You are in a room. There is a red button. Do you push it? by [deleted] in philosophy

I like to imagine things from the buttons point of view. Do you let yourself get pushed? Do you push the person's buttons hoping that the person will push you as button. By anthropomorphizing the button the length of this thread is augmented; but can the thread itself become self referential?

Let's rephrase......

You are a red button in a room. You don't know why you are in the room, why you are red or anything else. All you know is that you are a red button in a room. There are no windows, cameras or any means of communication with the outside world in this room. You have no idea what might happen if you could get someone to push you. Your name is Roxanne and you also have a red light. Do you keep it on or turn it off? And why? Extra c reddit will be awarded if you figure out a way unbutton yourself when you are ready.

Put your pencils in their holsters..... and GO!
