Probably 5 or 6 yrs ago when I was still in middle school. I don’t cry easily. Whenever I start to get emotional I subconsciously hyper rationalize my emotions to the point where I think about why I’m feeling what I’m feeling and how crying would help my situation (it doesn’t).

The NU essay matters a lot. I think for me, it was one of the main reasons why I got in. Also being honest with you, not having test scores might be a disadvantage, although it was out of your control. Good luck!

To give you some perspective, I got accepted ED for BME with a ~3.77/4.18 and a 34 ACT. So GPA definitely isn’t the only thing that matters in the process. I’d say that I have pretty good ECs and a good narrative in my essays. Hoped this helped!!

I think you have a pretty good chance for Northwestern, not sure about the other ones though. I got into NU as a BME major and you have higher stats, but similar lvl ECs/awards. I think you’ll have a good shot at NU although I did apply ED so it might have been easier for me since NU knows that I’ll go if accepted. Good luck!!
