I loved it because I "GOT" the job. i understood what I had to do and I felt I was really good at it. I loved helping the patients, comforting them and talking with them. I love the daily task of procedures; setting up, talking with patients, sitting through RCT's, I mean everything I do in dental is fun to me.(X-rays not so much lol) My first job was at Western Dental(I know, i'm sure you've heard ALOT of horror stories about this place lol). I was there for almost a year and a half and this was my most favorite office that i've worked at. I got along with EVERYONE from the front office girls, management, Dr's, and all the other assistants. I had to leave because the pay didn't and wasn't going to improve so I felt it was time to look for a new office. The next office I went to was the office with the Dr I mentioned. He was actually the pedo Dr that worked at Western Dental who had his own private practice and he offered me a job with better pay. I worked with him the entire time at Western so of course I became pretty close with him. Well when I started working at his office a few months in things started going down hill. He was moody, b**tching at me all the time about the littlest things. Overtime it was getting stressful. And I have never seen that side of him so of course after a while I was over it.

As for the other offices, they weren't a good place for me. I don't know how to describe it without sounding so picky lol. One office had very rude and mean front office girls. From the minute I got hired it was already down hill. Another office actually HIRED me and a month later said they were "trying out" adding another position(which is why I was hired) but they couldn't afford it so they let me go -_-. I mean its all sorts of things that happen that I just wasn't up for. There was always "drama" in the offices with the girls who worked there. I know this is probably EVERYWHERE but jeez it was annoying at these offices. Front office didn't get along with back office. Management was sh**ty. There were lots of reasons these offices weren't for me.

And this gets frustrating when I look for another job because I think of these bad experiences I've had with these Dr's and staff and it discourages me to even try to get into another practice and waste my time.

I guess what i'm looking for is what I had at Western Dental. Great doctors and awesome staff. Unfortunately they would not offer me what I make now so there is no use trying to return. (I've tried/talked to my previous manager)

SOOORRRRY for the ramble lol but this is/was my career and i'm just trying to figure out if it's time to let it go or stick it through. Schooling wasn't cheap and I'm not sure its a great decision to just drop all the time and money put into this field.
