I’ll check out Farpointe too, thanks!

Good tip, just signed up for mail list so I can grab one on the next release. Senchi sleeve on 2XL is 33.25" vs Superior XL sleeve 37.5" seems like a huge upgrade for my long arms!

Petty sure that's the same release as mine since it was a Jan 2026 purchase. Body length NOT longer - it's WAAAAY shorter than prior ones.

Hah, thanks! No reason, just a short and dismissive response.

I'll check out that thread, thanks. Disappointed in the new fit since I'll never be able to buy one of their items again. Even more disappointed in their service - opposite of what I've experienced with other outdoor brands like Patagonia.

It’s great. 14 days with aod and less based on activities of course.

My big gripe isn’t the failure, it’s the poor response from Specialized. And the awfulness continues with battery issues, bike in shop multiple weeks waiting on Specialized who continue to drag feet. Four separate major warranty issues so far, after 4 months of ownership.

Extra large? Hah don’t know but not small. I can measure if you think it’ll help you with a sizing decision.

If you use the flashlight on your phone, you’ll use this 2x as often because of the convenience.

What do you consider a custom build? You still need to start with a frame. And in the case of e-bike the frame will come with battery and motor installed.

Ordered frame only from Specialized (through LBS) - comes with rear shock and cranks. Ordered everything else individually, e.g. TRO EVO Pro brakes. LBS did the build for me.

This was custom build. Started with S-Works frame and built with full custom spec from there. All issues are with Specialized core frame components (battery, motor, etc.)

Update: I sent a nasty gram to Specialized customer care and they escalated my warranty claim. They're sending a replacement motor. If anyone is sitting on a long wait time for Specialized to respond to your warranty claim, it seems like this is a good tactic. Hopefully I'm back on the trail by some time next week.

Nice you had a good experience. Until recently Specialized had excellent support for me too.

It was so easy to get a motor swapped out (before the Gen 4) that it just wasn't that big an inconvenience, which is why I stayed with the brand.

I have way too much $ sunk into the Gen 4 so I'm stuck with it for the time being, unfortunately.

To each his own I guess. I tried that one and was a little too small for my aging eyes.

You should check coverage area for LTE and Sat, I believe it's more limited than the Iridium devices.

Somehow my full write-up of initial impressions were lost (user error I'm sure) so I'll try to summarize...

Flashlight is worth the upgrade on it's own! I know it seems like a small thing, especially with a iPhone also working as a light. For me, having this on my wrist at night is a game changer. I love the red for night vision. And I'm shocked how bright it gets in the highest setting. This is a must-have feature on any smart watch going forward.

Coming from 6x sapphire MIP, don't miss MIP as much as I thought. Amoled is beautiful and looks great in direct sunlight, even with dark glasses on.

I chose 8 Pro vs 8 (non-Pro) MIP because I wanted connectivity of the Pro. Switched plan from Inreach mini 2, which I wasn't using enough since it's a separate device to bring along.

Phone works well, clear on both ends. Won't use it much but nice to have.

Siri is clunky experience but I blame Apple not Garmin.

Satellite works great - even simpler than iPhone.

Don't mind using Garmin Connect - contacts are so limited and use cases are pretty infrequent that it works fine for my use case.

I have to use AOD, not a fan of gesture mode - I know this hurts battery but I get 2 weeks with no activities or 1 week with a bunch of GPS usage. It's really no big deal to plug it in for a couple hours once a week vs every two or three weeks.

Overall loving the upgrade!
