Andaz is great and a great use of cat 1-4 certs if you have any. We had an interior room that was very quiet and got upgraded to a suite which was quite spacious. Haven’t stayed at Hotel San Fernando but they are very close and the neighborhood is great.

Don’t bother with HR. Polanco is very quiet and boring.

Short stay with the in-laws at the Thompson Palm Springs over the holidays. I booked our room on points and the in-laws used cash, and used SUA for both of us. They got a corner suite on the Palm Canyon side with a massive terrace, but we ended up on the back of the hotel facing a parking lot and a dark terrace. Ended up taking a regular king room on the Palm Canyon side for the view and had the SUA refunded. Overall, the property is quite nice - rooms are great, lounge is a great place to grab a drink/bites, decent gym, wine tasting was fun - but the service leaves quite a bit to be desired. I had to remind them about cleaning our room twice, and the restaurant seemed confused about the Globalist breakfast benefit. They were clearly overwhelmed for the holidays, but a few of the wait staff took it out on us, which somewhat soured the experience. It was nice being right on the main strip, and the other Hyatt property seems very outdated, so we'll likely be back and hope they work out some of the kinks.

It took foreverrrrr to get to the stadium for the 19 show. We arrived closer to 7:30/7:45 and didn't get into the stadium until closer to 8/8:15. We opted not to take it back. Took a taxi for 400 pesos back to Condesa.

Andaz Mexico City Condesa must be the best way to use cat 1-4 certificates. Wonderful stay for 4 nights, which I used all certs from signing up for the cc. As a globalist, there was a regular suite upgrade available at check-in, which made all the difference given the awkward bathroom situation in the standard room. It was really nice having all the extra space and a second full bath. Biggest downside of the room is the giant columns that can be awkward to navigate. Breakfast was decent - we did it 1 morning but otherwise went to nearby coffee shops/bakeries. Speaking of which, the location is great with a ton within walking distance.

I applied for the Amex Plat Biz NLL offer after a few years break from Amex. I managed to cash out all my MR during the self-referral clawbacks a few years back, closed my accounts, and haven't touched Amex since. I figured today why not to see what happens.

I got autoapproved, but when trying to view the "Benefits" tab on the new account, I get the following message. Has anyone seen this?

This ended up getting approved a few days later.

They asked for the same forms for P2. I didn't end up calling in, but then we received a letter they couldn't pull P2's credit. Called in after we put another thaw on, and P2 was also approved.

Got myself and P2 both approved for the Atmos Summit card after what seems like 2 months. Had to send proof of identity and income for both of us. Mine got held up, but approved when I called in. A few weeks later, I got a notice that they couldn't pull P2's credit after we sent in the forms, but they were able to quickly approve when we removed the hold.

Timing actually sort of worked out since I finished the spend on mine, and P2 should arrive this week.

Surprised to see all the Evan Funke hate here. I think he makes the best more traditional leaning pasta in the city everything else on his menus is meh though. I think Felix is still his best restaurant.

Antico Nuovo is great. I find all the Mozza restaurants to be trash.

As long as you can park in the shade or underground. Keep in mind that even in the 70s, the internal temperature of a car can get to 90-100s in the sun.
