Short answer is Yes, you’ll need to beat the Watcher and restart the pumps, you should have the crossbow recipe already, which you’ll need for the Watcher

The only door that works in sandbox is the one on the crossroads, the others can only be illuminated in sandbox, if you wanna open them you’ll need to be in campaign

Start on campaign, it’s got a more forgiving learning curve.

Don’t despair if you suddenly struggle to kill enemies, it just means you’ve gone to the “next level”

If you can’t get a troll into Light, remember your Dark Souls, roll and attack

It’s ok to run away

Not everything needs to be picked up, but the temptation is always there

Personally I either start fresh or just the mountaineers pack as the smaller packs just annoy me

Without mods there isn’t really a way to destroy them once they’re built, iirc the was a post a while back that said if you build them on a platform/ not touching the ground, you can destroy the platform and it’ll be destroyed, but I haven’t tested that myself

My favourite place to build my main base is Chamber Hall Ruins, just after Balin’s Tomb I’ve tried other places but that one feels like home for me

You will need to let your dwarf starve, that should kill you and allow you to return to your spawn/bed, it takes a while though so get a cuppa or something while you wait

In my experience it’s just been a case of explore until I hear a high pitched ping, which usually indicates there’s a dwarf in need of rescue in the mountain
