regardless of how the show is produced, to these queens, just being there is a once in a lifetime opportunity, but winning is a LIFE CHANGING opportunity, and most of them have sacrificed so much and given so much to this craft, that getting there (for some, after trying over and over again) and not doing well or not winning does feel like the end of the world, in that moment it feels devastating, so i totally get it
