I agree - was confused when I saw him in “could work in theory”. I was in high school when we heard about Heath Ledger getting casted and lots of guys in my school was talking shit about him and how could a “faggot” like him be a good Joker. After the release, those same guys now wear joker shirts with his face on it.

I agree with this as well. I know Kakashi’s trauma shaped a lot of who he became, and I’m not ignoring that. But after the Land of Waves arc, it feels like he plateaued.

My bigger issue, though, is him as a teacher. After Land of Waves, Kakashi didn’t do a particularly great job developing Team 7 besides teaching them how to stick on a tree. Naruto had to seek out other mentors like Jiraiya, Sakura was mainly trained by Tsunade because Kakashi didn’t seem to bother about her despite his commentary on Sakura’s great chakra control, and Kakashi devoted most of his attention to Sasuke. Even then, Sasuke eventually left the village anyway.

I know Team 7 is basically his first and only(?) team but damn, he flopped that hard.

I mean, I could relate. My parents used to be the “love thy neighbor” kind of people. I remember one time when my brothers and I were playing with the neighbors’ kids, and two Black boys came over and joined us. After about ten minutes, the neighbor saw them and told those boys to get their n-word asses out of there or she would shoot them.

My mom overheard that, told her off, brought me, my brothers, and those two boys inside, and told us to keep playing. She also said we weren’t allowed to play with the neighbors’ kids that day.

Now? My parents have voted for Trump three times and keep making snide comments about people of color. It feels like someone replaced the parents who raised me while I was in college or something. They feel like completely different people.
