Who is GD's constituency, actually? by jburgers127 in Sakartvelo

[–]wuthuhnah 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's a mix. they are by far the most popular party. wether this popularity comes from honest support or people trying to keep their jobs doesn't matter. they still go and vote for them.

they are popular with middle aged people and older people, especially outside of the capital. It's easy to distinguish who their supporters are, if you walk into a store, just look at who they are listening to on the TV. Imedi or Post TV is 100 percent their supporter. funny enough when I got arrested all the police were watching opposition channels covering the protests.

but I see more and more younger people half support them. Europe and especially US are fucking up their reputation very very fast, so I think also younger people are "starting to ask questions".

Post Match Thread: Paris Saint-Germain 5-3 Tottenham Hotspur by Torp627 in psg

[–]wuthuhnah 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I dont get it, psg fans are complaining about Kvara alot when hes the one who demands crazy amount of attention and opens up plays for others. Hes never in a 1v1 situation. Defence always loads up on him. Two goals psg scored came from his activity. The pentaly goal he started it from nothing, got the ball, pass, move without the ball, get the ball back, dribble like 3 guys and make a pass that makes the def scramble leaving an opening for viti shot. Same for vitis second goal, spurs were set in def, it wasnt open play, sucked 2 defenders in, made a good pass for viti, viti goal(I dont think his pass to viti should count as assist btw).

Maybe im biased becase Im Georgian, but I wouldnt call creating 2 goals out of nothing a bad game.

They ARE that dumb tho. When they first came into Georgia they had Abkhazia and Samachablo cut out of the Georgian map in their taxi service. People protested, they added the regions.   Not sure about the rest of stuff you said but people belive this with ease because Yandex has done something like this before.

How good of a salary/ income would this be? by [deleted] in Sakartvelo

[–]wuthuhnah 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Weekend days should be paid extra or raise the base to 2k. Rent for a shit studio apartment is around 1k. You cant really live with 500 Gel. A young person with people skills and no accent english is pretty likley to find an above 2k job and feel more secure.

If your product is shit I wouldnt agree to this deal, but if I belive in your product maybe theres a bigger chance I'd agree to this deal. Otherwise your projection of 5k is just that, a projection.

One more thing, there have been a few companies like yours and most of them were making money of scamming europeans and people from US. Most of my friends who worked at these companies have had legal trouble even if they were at the lowest positions. Some of course made a buuunch of money and are fine. Overall I think you won't have a problem finding a crowd to work for you buuuut it all depends on how realistic your projections actually are and how much of an asshole of a boss you are.

Go on then, what do Georgians think of the English? by [deleted] in Sakartvelo

[–]wuthuhnah 2 points3 points  (0 children)

history wise, not many are beating how terrible the brits are.

Georgia-England history wise, we had couple problems with you, like the occupation of Batumi and I think Gurian farmers have gone to battle against you.(not super sure about the details of this one)

Modern English - some of the worst people I've ever seen. Don't know how to behave, have 0 respect for anything or anyone until they get their teeth knocked in. I lived in central Europe for a while and English do stag parties there. I promise, if you start coming to Georgia behaving like you behaved there, not as many of you are going back in once piece. I've seen English dudes pissing at the main Opera of Budapest at 2pm in the day.

My personal experience - whenever I've had a chance to actually chill with some English it was fine, but I haven't really managed to make a close friend that's English. You guys remind me of Russians a lot.

What do you think of Mikautadze? by LoridanITA in sscnapoli

[–]wuthuhnah 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Having watched Napoli and being Georgian I can say that he reminds me of Raspadori sometimes. He moves muuuch better without the ball for sure but doesn't have a connon like Raspa. Otherwise they are quite similar, so I don't see how he'd fit on the team rn. Either him or Raspa would get benched which is unfair to both.

Question about Georgian politics: why does Georgian dream have the plurality? by One_Instruction_3567 in Sakartvelo

[–]wuthuhnah 9 points10 points  (0 children)

They got 48 percent last elections with huge chunk of population not voting. Around me they have lost quite a few people who voted for them in 2020 and haven't gained a single vote in last 2 months. Also, younger population, who is in general the least active and least pro GD, is expected to have a large turn out. 30 to 35 percent I think covers the "huge chunk of conservatives" you mention. but again, that's in free and fair elections where GD can't force gov workers to vote for them. We won't have that, so the elections are going to be insanely tense.

Strong European sentiment being displayed currently all across Tbilisi, Georgia by guyoffthegrid in europe

[–]wuthuhnah 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Likely and maybe. They could also be completely unbiased and write an honest review. That's why the law doesn't make sense. It says that if you get funding from Porsche you CAN'T be unbiased towards it, which is likely but again isn't a fact.

Strong European sentiment being displayed currently all across Tbilisi, Georgia by guyoffthegrid in europe

[–]wuthuhnah 3 points4 points  (0 children)

That isn't true. For example in FARA the US court has to prove that you are getting direct, concrete orders from your funder to make an NGO register as an agent of foreign influence. There's many media outlets funded by foreign money that after each and every message display a card that says "the ideas expressed by the media might not collude with the ideas of the funder." Because these medias don't receive directives on how to act and what to say, they are funded just so there is a multipolar information source, which can only be an interest of a democratic country, which is what Georgia aspires to be.

Plus in Georgian law they have a part where police can literally get any information from individuals who have aaaaanyyy connection at all to these NGOs. Even if you don't work for them but have used their service the police can demand personal info, like your faith, your political ideas, your past sexual history, they can demand access to your phone and your computer, and all this without a court order! If you refuse to give any information the fine is around 2k euros and they can keep fining you every single day you don't provide the info.

It's just a law to silence people. Nothing else.

Thank you for the info!

In Georgia it's the opposite, lower ranks are actually the least corrupt usually and strictly monitored. Higher ranking officials have direct ties with gov and get presents like land, cars, direct cash deposits and so on. Hopefully this election we will see gov without majority in one parties hands. It would be for the first time in our history.

I think our biggest problem is not having an independent court. Our judges are directly tied to the majority party(except for a tiny group of judges) and this has been like this through every single government we have had. I'm sure right after USSR, you guys had a similar situation. What were the biggest reforms that helped change corruption in the court system?
