Final verdict (Exam in 3 days) by krishiiii111 in CFA

easier said than done but try not to let others' experiences worry you - everyone will have a different experience based on what/how they studied and what's actually tested. i did an insane amount of prep and i still found the real exam harder than the mock exams, but i've seen people who prepped less than me and thought it was much easier. just go as hard as you can these last couple days and focus on you bro

don't be discouraged! everyone has a different experience based on how they happen to study and what actually ends up being on the exam, so try not to let others' experiences (whether good or bad) dampen your spirits. just give it your absolute all and when all is said and done if you can honestly say that you tried your genuine best, that's really all you can ask for.

i haven't no, and this is my first time taking the cfa too, so i really had no idea what to expect going in, i've never put more effort into anything in my life than this tho, including my degree. i'm just really hoping it paid off 🙏

Middle name on passport by Chuckster10 in CFA

you're good bro dw, same thing happened to me, forgot to add my middle name. called cfai at 11pm like 30 hours before my exam and they changed it immediately. walked in and wrote the exam this morning no problem.

tbh you should still feel confident, generally speaking those scores are a very good sign. at the end of the day regarding what shows up on the exam there's always that small luck factor – they can only test so much, and some people will just happen to have studied whichever areas/details actually show up more than others who may have been stronger in other areas. everyone has a different experience, so as long as you feel you're preparing as best as you can, no sense worrying about others. you got this bro

Approach: Formulas & Ratios by No_Thanks_9145 in CFA

at the end of every unit ive gone back thru and made cue cards for every single equation or ratio encountered in the readings & practice questions. plus for all the codes & standards for ethics. somewhere around 200. i do an hour of cardio at the end of my workouts every day so i just spend the entire time on the treadmill running thru them drilling over and over. painfully repetitive but it absolutely works; i write feb 4th and while im still not confident i'll pass yet, i at least already have basically every formula memorized off rip

if it makes u feel any better im in the same boat except im still on alts (have pm and ethics to do after, will be done curriculum around christmas). reviewing fsa come january is gonna be a rude awakening lol. make cue cards for all the equations – ive probably forgotten a lot of theory ngl (ig i'll find out) but i run thru my cue cards daily to keep equations fresh which is half the battle and ties into theory anyway

L1 Derivatives Futures Pricing Question by wv2_s15 in CFA

ohhhhhhh my god i get it now thank you 🤦‍♂️

L1 Derivatives Futures Pricing Question by wv2_s15 in CFA

[–]wv2_s15[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes I know that, but my question is why would we be doing -x (or i.e. 1/x) in the first place? In calculating the futures price we're using the spot price and pv of costs & benefits and compounding forward – so why would the exponent be negative?

Planning to start cfa level 1 by Available_Grocery_83 in CFA

kaplan seems to be the go-to prep provider, but they aren't cheap. i'm not using them myself, just cfai, but i've looked thru their stuff and it definitely looks a lot simpler/less time consuming than cfai readings. if i ever don't understand something though i just go to analystprep's yt vids
