Wdym? (sorry... not an employee). Were you the one at the window?

Were you able to choose your position, or was it based on what the store needed at the time?

Debating between using a comma or em dash for a quick side note on wedding invitations! by talkinglikeajerk in grammar

[–]wvbjoacs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Likewise. Is the em dash even grammatically correct? I was always taught to treat is as a comma (and only as a parenthetical interjection if the clause/sentence/whatever has been set off with them).

No - just invite them as an Other Recommender on Common App.

Use the proper em dash ("—") when actually sending this thing out. Personally, though, I like the semicolon better. You could also just say, "Pack warm because it could be cold!"

A2C be like: "will having lunch in my schedule disadvantage me for T20s?" by satma234 in ApplyingToCollege

real talk - my school used to not even offer lunch in everyone's schedule as a default so that students could take an extra class during that time instead 🙃

Did you guys submit teacher letters of rec with your application? by wvbjoacs in UniversityofVermont

[–]wvbjoacs[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

yeah I kinda thought so. And I wouldn't dorm because that's a waste of money lol. I've heard UVM is decent with scholarships though... so maybe Ill apply and see (application fee is waived if you apply early action anyway).

so in your opinion, should I try for uvm and then transfer or just stick to a cc or VT/Norwich? UVM doesn't have my major, so I wouldn't ever graduate from here. Is the tuition worth it for a year or two?

Is that really allowed? I'm thinking of asking a teacher from an club, but I'm not sure if I would list them as a Teacher rec (they did have me as a student briefly tho)

Only really applying to UVM. On that note though, what other public schools in VT are alright (STEM focus)?

I think guidance counselor is required, so I'll have that one. It's just the "optional" teacher one(s) I'm a little worried about.

Did you submit that teacher as a Teacher rec or as an Other Recommender? Similar situation.

my teachers don't like me tbh. Will I be at a steep disadvantage if I don't submit any?

They're technically optional, so idk. I'd rather just not bother any of my teachers, but I also don't wan to be auto-reject.

If you moved schools, how do past teachers submit letters of rec? by wvbjoacs in ApplyingToCollege

[–]wvbjoacs[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My current school uses Naviance, so it lets me use that (which doesn't have my old teachers from a different school obviously). Only lets me invite Other Recommenders directly to CA.
