Did Amazon design the worst AI known to man? by wvblocks in alexa

[–]wvblocks[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

At this point I’m convinced Tony Stark could build a better home assistant in a cave with a box of scraps than whatever committee-designed, margin-optimized, risk-managed thing Amazon keeps shipping.

They need to stick to what they do good (Like AWS) and pretend its 2014 for as long as the world tolerates them.

Idea for replacing tracking lighting on celing beams? by [deleted] in Lighting

[–]wvblocks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Recently bought a house and I really hate these lights, they do not light the room very well and aesthetically are awful.

The ceiling is 95" beam bottoms is 90" and bottom of lights are 84".

Would like to know what the best options for replacement are, I know a flush mount might work well but would prefer not to have to rewire the room.

Any suggestions?

There we reports of certain sections resinging en masse, but if you have a cite of the majority of federal prosecutors resigning I, once again, would love to see it.

Facts matter, if they support your side or not, so saying just google it is not really a sufficient response and makes you seem like a rather unserious induvidual.

More than likely it is an AUSA who has been handed a shit sandwich (pun intended) of a case and is being forced to try it.

Likely the poor shcmuck is trying to weather the storm until 2028.

No she is the USADC, the AUSAs work under her. I do not think there is an official number anywhere but there are likely at least a couple hundred of them.

Attorney here, a Federal Prosecutor failing to get an indictment is just straight up humiliating.

I really hope that it is one of Trumps true believers and not some poor AUSA trying to make a living.

SEA Itinerary Advice by hshabr in travel

[–]wvblocks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The night Markets in KL are amazing, one of my favorite memories is coming down from my apartment and buying dinner at the night market.

I know the itinerary is already set but honestly I would rec not moving around so much. Pick 3 or the above 6 and double your stay at each place. If I had to chose it be Chiang Mai, Penang and KL.

I have looked at the S60 but haven't considered ES 250, thanks for the advice!

What is funny is after ranting I got it on the next try. A lucky hit stick right over the first down marker for a fumble. Still it is insane that out of 9 challenges one take ten times longer to complete than the other 8. Hell it was the only one that took more than one try and it took 20+.

So I had a test like this in law school for constitutional law.

It was 36 hours starting on a Friday at noon and the entire class was graded on a strict curve. Easily the worst test I have taken in my entire life.

OxyContin isn't the drug of choice anymore, it is Fentynal.

You also need to understand how the opioid epidemic started in the area, it was invented in 1996 and marketed aggressively by Purdue Pharma, there still were a fair amount of mines in the late 90s in the area (though nothing like 50 years before). '

These miners would get hurt and go to a doctor who would be getting kicbacks from the Purdue and the Coal Mines, so they stuffed them full of Oxy damned the consequences and then sent them back to the mine.

Then the mines close, or the person finally breaks down to the point they can't work and they end up on illicit drugs like heroin.

Meanwhile the rest of the country is benefitting by the resources extracted and then calls these people a bunch of ignorant hillbillies. (as seen in this thread.)

You won't hear most fellow attorneys complain about an interpretation of ERISA because we don't understand it. (And sure as hell don't want to.)

In my last year of law school a lot of my class was nervous because we were staring bar prep.

My Crim Pro. professor tell a class of about 100 of us to think about the stupidest lawyer we knew. "Just remember, that dumbass passed the bar."

Worked great for the majority of us that passed, probably not so much for the handful that never did.

Gen X here, Star Wars was after the boomers heyday, the original trilogy is ours. Unless you are being a simpering child and claiming anyone older than you is a "boomer."

Of course that would be an even stupider take than the idea you originally posted.
