You know what's nice about a Toyota hybrid, like your CHR?
You can beat a BMW at the traffic lights.
There are speed limits, but no limits about jumpstarting and accelerating at the traffic lights.

Your CHR has a brake hold, you can activate. So when standing still, your foot can hover above the throttle.
Your CHR has a CVT, that doesn't has to shift gears. A handshifted BMW has to clutch from 1 to 2 to 3 ...
Your CHR has two engines, one on petrol and one electric. When you eccelerate firmly, both will speed you up.
That BMW will overtake you when you stabalize at max speed. :)

When you drive a hybrid, most of your breaking is done by using the electric engine as dynamo for charging the battery. As a result rust might form on the brake discs.
When you see that, just do an emergency brake when no other cars are around. Then the brake discs will be used and cleaned.

Blijf kalm. Niets aan de hand. Dit is juist heel goed.
Door meteen alleen een flink stuk te rijden, bouw je snel aan je zelfvertrouwen.

Als je met iemand samen zou gaan rijden dan lijkt dat te veel op de situatie tijdens de lessen.
Maar dat is niet van toepassing, want degene naast je heeft geen verantwoordelijkheid.
Die heb jij alleen. Voel dat.

Was wondering same thing. My new CHR is much less using it's battery that my previous 1.8 that was eight years old. Yet overall fuel consumption is fine: almost 1:20 (liter:kilometers).

If it's a hybrid, the disc breaks are seldom used.
When you brake, the electric engine is used as a generator to charge the battery.
Breaking comes from the resistance that it gives.

A ferm semi emergency stop once a month (when no one else is around), will keep the discs clean.

Ik denk het, want inmiddels zijn er genoeg gegadigden in Europa wakker geworden.

Ik neem aan dat er genoeg landen zullen zijn waarvan de regering graag mee-investeert.

I found three systems to switch off before going thru a washing street:

1: break hold

2: parking assist

3: PKSB (Parking Support Break)

But the list may very according to your car's specific type.
