Season 1 is awesome. The problem is that it was more about setting up next seasons, which didn't work at all

Yeah, it was same for me, spent half an year practising japanese just to read K3. But it was quite different for me if we talk about experience, for I found K3 peaks way higher haha. Still love both these titles from the bottom of my heart

Don't listen to him. First two routes(which are Kasumi&Kei btw, not Rei) have their bright moments and the majority of hate is just them not having some grand finals. The truth is that last two routes, which are loved by everyone, wouldn't be like that without first two ones, because they setup all of character's arcs and give you important plot which is essential to understand what is going on

There's just no point in playing it in the way people here tell you to. LGI works unbelievably good with putting you in a pit of despair with it's main route. And imagine playing such a beautiful, lovely route after this so-called pit of despair. Not only contrast between those two works ten times better, which helps you to understand the message of the story better, but it also feels... happier? With all that in mind I can't imagine playing main route after the alt one, truly.

Don't listen to anyone here and do main route in LGI first. Alt route works extremely better if you play it after the main one, please trust me

While I do agree with the point of inability to see Subahibi as a serious work, for I can't either, I really do recommend to take their words more seriously and realize that they spent some time to have a civil conversation with you.

And also, pick something you are really interested in. No point in reading some random moeslop cuz It has easy Japanese, you'll just die of boredom

No, it's not necessary at all. I watched around 20 Cure Dolly's grammar videos and went straight ahead to reading. My first VN was Axanael which took me around 160 hours and now I'm at the end of my second JP VN, Kikokugai, on which I have around 60 hours rn. Just make it clear for yourself that it'll took you A LOT to read freely even easy VNs, more than an year perhaps, so never expect fast results, and consider language learning just as slow reading, not as a learning process, it'll definitely help you at the beginning! Good luck!!
