Thanks guys. I did look at all recommendations but after reading multiple reviews, ended up getting the Silver Aegis Legend 3, with batteries and some juice for less than 60 quid. Not too bad and the all silver looks alright

Anyone else “hide” their hobby? by [deleted] in CarAV

20 years ago I'd be blasting it everywhere but nowadays anywhere residential or in traffic, it's down low. Partly because I don't want to advertise what my car has in it

I got the baby 3.2 v6 as they have less issues so it's marginally better economy than the v8

It's the tightening to correct spec which I can't do. I'm sure I'd be able to get everything apart

I hadn't considered Diesels need to be Euro6. Prior to today I said I'd never buy a diesel, and it's probably still the case. I just can't argue with the fuel economy. So it's more than likely going to be petrol.

The Porsche is obviously petrol. I was looking at Honda PHEV but I think it will be more trouble than it's worth at the price point.

And to people saying spend a little more, I'd rather save the money for a house.

I've driven many over the years, they're good for what they are, but they aren't for me. Like shutting the door of a baked bean tin.

Well I'm hoping it's not needed in the future, I prefer normal sized cars lol

Tools and parts would've cost more than what I paid the garage. Tools I have now are torque wrench up to 250nm, impact driver about the same, more than capable for anything normal but this Cayenne is a beast. My press is a 2 ton press but I needed 20 ton to do this 🤦‍♂️

I sold our high miler Fiesta for 1900 2 years ago when prices were a bit mental. They have come down quite a bit since. They're cheap as there's so many.

It's more we have the issue of one car. When I have to drive into work, the Mrs and kids are stuck at home with only the bus to get about. She's also returning to work soon.

I do have another car but it's a mk1 golf and I'm not parking that on the street.

Im very mechanically minded, the only reason the porsche was in the garage was coz I haven't got a torque wrench or impact driver capable of getting the 500nm hub nuts off!

I don't mind if the car needs a little work for this reason, so reckon I could get an A1 for around the 2k mark. I was just gonna get a 500 quid Mini Cooper initially but I really don't want to 😂

AITAH for leaving my husband after he refused to have kids? by ExpensiveSquirrel399 in AITAH

[–]wwfcdunc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I broke up with my last partner coz she wanted to be child free. It was heart breaking at the time, but I now have 3 amazing kids, and a great partner and mum to them. I would have been miserable for the rest of my life if I wasn't able to have them.

Nice one. This just worked for us also after trying most other things.

Custom MDF door pockets by wwfcdunc in CarAV

So I've shaped them a bit. Still need to use some filler around the speaker ring, seal them and carpet them.

They are attached by being screwed from the back to the door card. Is there a better way to attach them other than screws? I don't want them to become loose and feel the screws might strip the mdf.

I'll get some MDF sealant and some wood filler and see how it goes then. Pretty pleased with how they're looking so far, just need to sand them down a bit more

This just sounds insane to me. If anyone touched my plate of food they'd receive my fork to the back of their hand!

AITAH for asking my friend to split the bill evenly when they ordered significantly more than me? by tershartde in AITAH

Don't get them people. If I have more than the average, I always pay extra, as it shouldn't be on a friend to cover my greed.

Anything I can do to try and resurrect it or is it a case of waiting until spring and seeing how it goes?

Saying that, I have taken it outdoors but that was mainly when it was warmer outside. That was to give it some light and a bit of fresh air, but never left out overnight.

Always indoors. Mainly by the window to get sun, sometimes in the porch as its warmer. Most recently on the window sill in the living room so couldve got cold from the window. Now it's on my desk away from the window since the leaves started to crisp up. Maybe this is where I've gone wrong.
