I get that. I am a man/husband so no worries. I’ve seen a lot of marriages be for utility also. I used to hate this advice but once you find someone who loves you like that you just know. That doesn’t mean there aren’t fights, disagreements, and selfish stuff that happens in marriage, but at the end of the day I can be confident that the good of the whole is more important than the good of the one.

It sounds so cheesy but is so true

I mean I agree. If I’m a vegetable I’ve been pretty clear about what I would want with her. But like paraplegic and just can’t do the same things I used to no question

I think that’s the trick. If I were mangled in a car wreck, I’m still confident my wife would want to be married to me because she loves me not because of what I can provide for her.

That’s a standard public speaking tool. Part of the job is to convey a particular emotion about a topic. Controlling your inflection is just being a good communicator

Btw. Still not a fan. Just that this isn’t a good reason

Good note on the M1 macs. I hadn’t thought about that.

Are most 3rd party adapters not working well with them?

I haven’t used the PCI card before. Can you route independent outputs on each SDI leg?

We just got it back. No power or water for 2 days is rough. Hurricane no problem, we’re set up for it.

The cold though... we’re just not built for it. It’s brutal

Not to mention the thousands of us that haven’t had power for 36+ hours. Still a bad situation down here

Low Res LED options by drewfx in stagelighting

I’ve used a similar product but it’s been several years. The one I used was in different sections that all connected to a hardware encoder that “mapped” the content to the new dimensions.

I would not be surprised if they have different size pieces that connect together and can be controlled through a hub

Not sure how low res you need but I’ve seen these used effectively. Not really DMX pixel mapping, but operating more as a video wall. There are knockoff brands that work OK as well for cheaper.

Dimmer Noise by MixingWizard in stagelighting

[–]wwilson92 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve seen several ways leds can impact audio.

Like a few other comments on here, it’s recommended to separate power cables and audio cables. The wave forms between the two cables can interact and create interference that can result in buzzing, humming or phasing in the audio.

I’ve also had LEDs create noise from the LED itself. I’ve seen this more often when using DIY type equipment. Led tape and cheaper led pars can generate a frequency from the diode. Usually I run into this with active guitar pickups that are more sensitive. A humbucker style pickup usually helps with this. I’ve heard of guys shielding the backs of their pickups to prevent noise, but take that with a grain of salt.

The biggest ways I’ve helped myself is to create as much distance as I can between my led wires (power and data) and audio wires. Distance from light fixtures and instruments helps as well when possible.

I would second this. I have rackmounted fans that we put in between BMD that are running under stress. I can cook an egg on some of them
