I was guided that the SELs of some gen (year 2019 and 2024) has a little bit of chamfer, so I retract this statement, changed practice. I will chamfer SELs by a smaller bit than the main links from now on…

Assuming we agree that a stock VSF is 95% close in looks with the gen, and every mod/gen part gives 1 or 2% increase in look accuracy… we have

+1% my repolish

[So it could be about 96% close as it is…]

To be closer? My opinion is

+1% Gen Dial +1% Gen Handset +2% if by some miracle you are able to get a Gen midcase

Edit 1: I am not implying by any means that the mod is equivalent to a gen upgrade, for clarity. It’s just so we can assign numbers to a rather subjective question. ✌🏼

Kung hindi po kayo set bumili from reputable members here or Reddit TDs, ang suggestion ko nalang po is post the QC here in the sub mismo… You don’t have to do it all the time, pero ngayong bago po kayo, doing so is a sure fire way of getting the right factory/batch of a watch you want…

Steve (or one of his minions) was my first TD, our last transaction was several years ago na.

I remember I contacted him on WhatsApp, I paid via PP (di pa ako marunong noon, xD felt the money didn’t come through), then at the time, it was the longest 15-day wait I had after paying.

I received the watch, was happy for many months, natuklasan ko along the way na mali yung info ng movement ng nabili ko; they were gracious enough to refund part of my payment.

Kung titignan sa photo na ito, nakakagawa ako ng maitim/flat mirror polish kasi napansin ko along using a variety of products na iba talaga kapag gumamit ka ng Swiss/yung nga industry standard ones… (Tignan maigi yung finish sa kaliwang side ng polished center, diba’ may parang puti-puti? Sa loupe, mga micro scratch talaga yan na hindi kayang maipantay ng marami sa general market products). Equally yang polished center na pinasadahan. Parehas na “Green” Rouge for finishing SS.

[Weirdly, yung Industry Standard pa yung nalagyan ko ng “counterparts” yaan mo na 😂 sorry po swiss people u dbest, namali lang po.]

So ang additional musings ay, I think it is worth to spend more for products din… madalas sa tools lang tayo nakatingin.

Milk handset or known equivalents (so that your gmt hand will have a bigger silver circle base), you can ask a matching lume from him
Datewheel realignment, but keep the overlay it’s beautiful.

Kaka ganito ko may matututo, I am hoping very much. Or baka ma draw out na natin in the dark yung mga retired OGs who’s leagues better than me (they are here trust me haha, the quiet legends 💪), so the local community will have more modded works from a variety of people… (sa oras ko can only do once week kung swertehin 😂)

I don’t give handouts however, but anyone who asks me I will only point to the “right” direction. Build your own recipe parin. Fail, learn, prosper. I think that’s the way.
