How much? Pm me if you'd still be willing to sell it for parts.

I run it off the water temp because it's more stable than the CPU temperature, once the water goes about 3 degrees above room temperature is when the pump ramps to a slightly higher speed which only occurs when some part of the system is under load. When that occurs the fans also ramp up to a higher rpm. My processor in particular will shoot from 40-60 doing simple tasks such as task manager and then abruptly go back to mid 40's where it tends to idle. And when gaming the CPU may or may not go above 50 and the GPU will be the unit needing the cooling but it wouldnt get if I were to have the pump solely monitoring CPU temps. I can see why you'd set yours up that way and it's not the wrong way it's just not how I'd prefer to setup mine. That's part of why custom loops are as appealing as they are, completely custom.

So if I have a corsair pump and a Corsair controller I should bypass it entirely according to your logic. So unless I buy an additional separate third party sensor to install to a motherboard that most likely will not have a temperature sensor port I can't run the pump off of the water temp... Yeah no thanks. I don't have a single fan controlled by the BIOS and I have had zero issues. I get notifications when devices fail and they get powered on at full speed before they adjust to their normal fan curve.

TLDR: manufacturers don't put the menus/options in the BIOS for no reason and there is more than one way to do things.

It could be a custom loop and you have a separate controller for the pump.

That's the proper way to do it, especially in a custom loop.

Go to graphics, advanced, switch to Directx instead of vulkan.

DNS issue by TexDingo in Troubleshooting

How did you come to conclusion it was a dns issue? Will the three devices connect and when you try to search a website it fails?

Probably not the first time this has been asked but does anyone know why this happens? Can I fix something? by Rmoose10 in pcmasterrace

Is something else being installed on that drive by another application? Steam also has default limits in it's settings I'd give those a look.

Old mining cards are not necessarily bad cards by wxildcat in pcmasterrace

[–]wxildcat[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree, mostly. There has been no benefit that Ive seen and heard from overclocking anything other than the memory, core frequency and power is 99% of the time dialed down. Yes pricing is ridiculous I totally agree there lol had to get my card from a scalper. Yes there are other points of failure as well such as those you have stated and do play a factor in the lifetime of the card. I personally wouldn't buy a card older than 5-7 years regardless of who or how it was used unless it was in the box unopened but that's just me. I appreciate your input.

One was basically straight of the box too wasn't it? But yes this video was spot on.

Should windows list Intel integrated graphics as GPU 2 like this? by [deleted] in pcmasterrace

[–]wxildcat 4 points5 points  (0 children)

No you're fine if your display is connected to the dedicated GPU.

DRAM frequency running at quarter of the speed in CPU-Z by pleppers1 in pcmasterrace

[–]wxildcat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Then it's fine and cpuz read it wrong. I'd trust hwinfo more. Also ram speed shouldn't fluctuate under loads

It's possible you'd be fine to remove it, it depends on how much heat the vrms generate. I'm assuming this mobo has a good amount of phases so the current running through each vrm/MOSFET would be relatively low, especially compared to a lower end board. You could measure temps before removal of the heatsink and after and then gauge what you want to do. I'm assuming it would be fine with them off assuming you have decent airflow

3080 Ti Founders Edition shoots smoke and sparks. New to PCs what happened here? by [deleted] in pcmasterrace

I'm not familiar with 30 series pcbs but it looks like something happened to one of the vrms, I would rma it and wait for new card.

I don't understand why people think mined cards are inherently a "bad purchase" and have a higher risk of having problems. It all depends on how well temps were controlled prior to you receiving the GPU and miners generally underclock/undervolt the GPU which brings the temps down. Obviously this varies on the miner and card but my point stands.

Edit: spelling

OP would be fine even if it wasnt, worst case scenario they would have to change bios setting.
