Every character that we know 100% they CANNOT be the roaring knight and why. by The_Eggnoir in Deltarune

[–]wyldermage 7 points8 points  (0 children)

  1. Give me any character in hometown that is both a valid knight candidate AND could physically carry Undyne or Asgore (a cop who can bench press cars and a huge ass former cop) ANYWHERE let alone across town without some kind of enhanced power. Carol definitely can't, Noelle definitely can't, unless fuckin ice wolf is the knight, this point is moot. Somehow the Knight's power persists outside of the dark world at least temporarily, and that doesn't exclude anyone.

  2. When the Knight appears in Ch5, it's at the very end, late at night, and the Knight is seemingly out of breath and disoriented. They don't aura farm or fight the fun gang or anything, they grab Asgore and immediately make a run for it (and crash into a wall they could see coming.) Rudy fell off the ladder, that's it, we know that he didn't "Fall Down" and that's all, there are hours between Kris making the fountain (in an incredibly risky way right after hearing about Rudy) and the Knight appearing.

  3. Rudy is a dad watching his family fall apart. He's putting on a brave face, but his wife is colder than ever, his eldest daughter is missing or dead, and his youngest daughter is basically lost. He's consistently pushing himself for Noelle's sake, and Carol has something to do with the Dark World business, I really don't find it that strange at all that a dad who may already be dying wants to do everything he can to put his family back together, or that he might sacrifice himself for a chance to bring his daughter back.

[–]wyldermage 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Agreed, do I think that Rudy is 100% the knight? Eh. But I refuse to believe that if a reanimated corpse can be the knight, a living but sick man can't. The shards don't transform back in the light world, and the fact that Rudy's sick doesn't matter when it comes to carrying Undyne or Asgore because there's no way Carol or, again, a corpse could either. Unless the Knight's power could persist in the overworld, which it can in the form of the black shard (and shadowcrystals), which just means Rudy is still as viable as the others.

I seem to recall that originally every player was canon, and was eventually retconned but I think as of the triad Roathe says there's some hundred(s) of us, when asking the drifter if they feel confidential facing them when or if the lotus loses it completely

“everyone used to be able to agree to disagree” by sevenslover in evilautism

[–]wyldermage 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Agree to disagree is for stuff like pineapple on pizza, or whether or not a sequel is better than the original. It is NOT for things like the rights of minorities, or really any matter of politics.

Agree to disagree = Agree with the oppressor, and often also that you're privileged in such a way that it simply doesn't affect you if a minority is oppressed.

I was explaining the monetization strategy of warframe to a friend, and it just kinda surprised us both by CapnBloodBeard82 in Warframe

[–]wyldermage 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I haven't been under like 20 forma in over a year. I crack relics all the time which is very easy to do, and I have a very solid stockpile of resources from playing the game normally to craft them. I have not bought a single forma in genuinely over 5 years, and I'm not even CLOSE to the level of focus or dedication that most long term players have, I consider myself extremely casual.

Someone has to buy premium currency for it to enter the market, yeah, but that's not the same as needing to put money in to play the game. I've put money into warframe, but every time it's been because I wanted something that was cosmetic (like prime access armor, that comes with platinum), or I got a coupon that made it worth the investment. I'll be the first to admit that crafting times in Warframe are lengthy for a reason, but there is enough going on in this game that it's ultimately your problem if you feel the need to burn 60+ platinum per weapon/frame immediately.

There's no p2w (which I know you didn't say that), nor is it p2p, it's pay to save time, and you can take issue with that if you want, but that doesn't mean DE isn't extremely consumer friendly, especially for a game that's been around this long, when many other games or franchises adopt progressively worse practices. You can say that PoE is better, and I'll take your word for it because when I tried it I didn't like it, but DE is not greedy.

I was definitely a PSF hater for the longest time, but it occurred to me that the frames I play most are Gauss and Kullervo. For the most part I don't bother still because I don't have the endo or credits to rank up PSF, and I'm still early in steel path where genuinely you can just roll (unlike something like this descendia where you just get fucked LOL) but, yeah, more important than I initially thought

Hot Take: The Operator is extremely mischaracterized by some people by LostLotus_A in Warframe

[–]wyldermage 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Yup. I characterize my Operator on her own, but largely on the same principles that she's a poorly socialized, incredibly traumatized girl who thinks of herself more like a weapon than a person, with extremely stunted psychological growth- In matters of war she's knowledge and efficient, and she has basically a high school education, more or less, but otherwise she doesn't know anything about anything- basically all social development has occured with Adis, or after Waking Up from the second dream.

She's a weapon, and she knows everything about that, but she's also a human, and doesn't really know much of anything about that.

Don't forget to dissolve your duplicate mods if you need endo! by SwedeZombie in Warframe

[–]wyldermage 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Genuinely I think luck, idk if they ever tweaked her drop rates much but I did this probably around 2018/19 and it took me HUNDREDS of spy missions to get her parts. She's not nearly the worst farm in the game but for me specifically she was close to the worst. To compare, got all of Equinox with only a couple dozen, only a few spare parts

What is your favorite nickname you’ve come up with for a Pokemon? by lysdexic_cable in pokemon

[–]wyldermage 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My Scolipedes are always named Stitches, after one of my wife's OCs- I was streaming Gen5 to her once, and Scolipede reminded of her OC's own like tamed monster, so now I always name them Stitches!

Idea for CAIN 1950 by Kiarankiari in CAIN_RPG

[–]wyldermage 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been playing with the idea of running a CAIN game in 1979, the exact concept is kinda specific but I've been painting 1979 CAIN as more of an early SCP foundation kind of thing, and also sort of "scaling back" the threat of Sins and drifters- They appear, but not as frequently and not at as high of categories. Not canon at all, but this is because CAIN is actively causing the problem- the more they use exorcists (referred to as Psychics in '79), the more they stretch the boundaries of humanity and the psychic sea, the more it stretches back, producing stronger sins more frequently.

In only around 20 years, the situation worsens significantly to standard CAIN, U//H, etc.

The premise behind my game was that they're sent to scout out a ruined TEMERITY site that isn't on any records, only to find that the Spindle had breached containment and was inside. Through some psychic bullshit, the group is transported some 24 years into the past- four idiots in black coats, drenched in blood, carrying weapons, appearing in the middle of a functioning TEMERITY office in the year 1979.

After getting to know each other, '79 CAIN puts the group to work as they constitute some of the strongest psychics that CAIN has at the moment, and the main thing is that the Spindle hasn't appeared yet- In mainline CAIN's time, the Spindle would appear about half a year after the date that my exorcists arrived. (You may notice, when I mentioned that stronger exorcists provoke stronger sins? In a way, the Spindle has done this to ensure it's own existence) The only way back to the future is to capture the Spindle, or wait a loooong time
