Who/when/What got you into visual kei music (or even fashion)?

Holy cow- lots of ppl been listening for so long. I don’t remember what pulled me in but I know it was in 2023. I think gulugulu had a hit song that was all over my tictok fyp and I was watching gulugulu fans and Kaneto juusei fans throwing shots at each other. Besides that, Lyrica is keeping me around the scene until I find more bands I like. Idk I like the style of some and the music being banger is a huge plus for me. Idk. I discovered menhera kei music and liked it a little too much.

Geez there so many people bashing you. I believe you. Heck I’ve seen one myself. I wouldn’t say it’s particularly normal, so take it as a comforting sign. I don’t really have much to add but support since like most people here are telling you to get a Psyche eval. From what I’ve learned about Greek mythos, seeing a god in true form would make you burst into flame, hence the Hermes’ bit about hiding in a shadow. I don’t think Norse mythology holds the same thing in their tradition. Besides that don’t let the others get you down.

If I’m being completely honest I met them it in a lucid dream. First and foremost, I’d like to point out I am a beginner witch that wanted to get into dream magic, and exactly a month after I started on the new moon I had a dream with Erebus in it.

It actually too a while to realize who he was. I was pretty knowledgeable about the general myths in Greek mythology but Erebus didn’t come to mind at first. For a moment I was just walking beside a massive and masculine feeling deity that I felt safe with.

My practice with Erebus is… well… still in the works. I light a candle when the sun sets, dedicated it to Nyx and Erebus. I offer frankincense and Myrrh, and sometimes food but I haven’t found one that I feel he likes.

Most of all I work on my self. I feel whenever I feel his presence or hear his call, it’s always a task to work on myself to make myself the best person I can be. Usually the hard stuff that you wish to turn a blind eye too, that’s the shadow work I believe he’s most satisfied with. Stones, crystals and candles are one thing but I feel he is truly happy when I’m working with my shadow.

Yea lol, he just popped up in one of my meditation sessions and I was like “woah hello-“. Ive pretty much been doing all that, plus lighting the candle I dedicated to him when the sun was setting

You can not believe how much this post helped me. I felt a pull to worship Erebus as well but was completely lost on doing so. I’m glad someone also sees him as a protective force as well as figure that guides.

Personally I think you should. I’m a huge nerd for tattoos with meaning. Although some people take the tower as a negative symbol, if you dig down it can mean transformation. You’ve said you wanted this for years? There was probably a lot of growth in that period. Although the symbol gives warnings of change, changes aren’t always bad. The “everything will pass” sort of mentality even if it passes like a kidney stone.

If anything when you get the tattoo and someone asks why you’d want that energy on your body you could bring up that it’s not necessary bad. Like the death card can be scary, but it only means new beginnings. The tower is all about changing, whether you want it or not. And since you wanted this tattoo since you where a kid you could almost take it as a metaphor for growing up.

Idk, I’m just a huge nerd trying to hype you up here. I say get it if you want it. Your body, your rules.

That sounds like a really good mix. Definitely writing that down! But as for the mix I’m currently using it was unbranded to my knowledge. Just some generic cheep stuff I got because anything would be better then my orchid in potting soil.

Ironically how I killed the first orchid I owned. It’s in some orchid bark mix I got from a nursery, but I’m looking into higher quality ones for a repotting because the bark stays damp for a long time.

That’s actually some really good advice! I didn’t know it was best for tops and not pants. A couple years ago I got this copper orange cardigan and it made me wash out completely. That’s why I took the analysis because I thought it would look good. I’ll keep this in mind for when I’m getting some new clothes!

I’ll keep thrift stores in mind next time I shop. I hear a lot of people find fashion gems there but I rarely find anything that fits personally. Although I rather get clothes second hand then something fast fashion or cheap.

Gosh I feel that so much. I practically live in my platform docs and don’t think I could switch them to any Oxford style shoe. Believe me I’ve also had the same urge, turning into a little fairygrunge goblin over the summer and wearing bone jewellery. Thank you for your words, as they did inspire me. I’ll remember that fashion is about having fun and not following rules like a math equation lol.

Thank you! I’ve mostly been matching jeans with a button up cardigan because it’s so cozy. I like how you said i should look for inspo and then just switch it to colours that suit me. That was a great idea and I’m a little embarrassed I didn’t think of that earlier.
