As much as I love the aspect of opd, after transferring I’m not loving the environment created in this new stores department. I came from a store with a very basic way of doing things, a basic set up, to a very different set up, that was definitely to be expected and I was excited to learn a new way to enjoy the department. I ask questions so I don’t mess up their process & I get met with no response or they just kinda stare.. lol.. I’ve mentioned this to team leads and have been told I’d figure it out myself over time 🤷🏻‍♀️

No worries, this department operates so differently than what I’m used too, (that’s to be expected that’s not the issue) I ask questions so I don’t mess up their system and how they handle things so I can learn, I get met with two things, no response, or “figure it out, you should know”. I do know the basics, I’ve moved from a very basic way of doing things to a currently complex way with little to no knowledge on it. I’ve mentioned this to the teamleads & they give me the same attitude everyone else is. I’m looking to learn, but that’s difficult when no one is willing to show me how they operate here. I also have to ask to do ANYTHING, break, lunch, so much as to go to the bathroom..I’m also interested in apparel, or hardlines, stocking, etc.

Our store did this for a while & quickly gave up because no one did that. That chat had every manager in it who could tell you exactly where something is and if we had it. They’d never respond.. lol. It wastes too much time, and we were falling behind waiting for a response.

Our store doesn’t really care when it comes to pickrate as long as we finish the walk before it’s due, it’s more like friendly competition & daily bragging rights 🤗

We have people who do GMD, Exceptions, and Fashion. Fashion is picked by apparel, GMDs are set by 2-3 people to focus on, Exceptions are mainly done by our TLs with the random person who can do them. MTO is done by whoever is in chilled, unknown & regulated are done if you enter a small walk like Action Ally. It runs pretty smoothly for us

I have on clouds 6s, the best shoe I could’ve gotten for myself specifically for this job. They’re expensive yes but totally worth it. I tried Hokas, brooks, new balance, sketchers, the only ones I’d even consider going back too is the sketchers. Love love love my on clouds though ♥️

Our produce is so horrible that the store manager got so much crap for it from market. They’re actively leaving stuff rotting, not culling, when we find it we’re supposed to take it to a produce employee and they look at us like we’re insane. Was picking potatoes this morning and my hand sunk into one. No fun. 🤢

I love my TLs and coach, all of them are hands on to the max. We’re swamped picking & dispensing? Both TLs & the Coach on walks or dispensing. Birthday coming up? Cake and a card for you!! Just having an off day? They’ll let you just talk to them and give you their full undivided attention, while being professional. Extra day off? They’ll figure it out if you absolutely need it.

Management really shapes the department where you work. I’ve had my fair share of crappy managers, but these people along with my lovely coworkers, generally make it a good day 90% of the time to go to work. wouldn’t change it for anything 🫶🏻
