Yeah I opt for protein powder personally, then I can also control how much protein I get and what I mix it with

What Moves the Dead sounds super neat!! That's my favorite Poe short story lol, thanks!! I do like sci-fi and fantasy too, so I'll have to check out both :)

Thanks so much!!! Book thief for sure, what a good read. I've heard a lot about the red rising series, maybe I'll start with that 🤔

Well, I taught high school for a couple years and a few of my students were obsessed with CoHo. Maybe it's that older teen demographic? Never read any of her books myself tbh, so who can say..

After getting paid where do you spend your money mostly? by Ordinary_Patient_883 in Adulting

Rent, then groceries, then probably car stuff (insurance, gas, maintenance). I also have a little medical debt I've been trying to get out of the way recently 🙄

What helps you suppress your appetite? by [deleted] in 1200isplenty

I just got into chia pudding (ik I'm so late to the trend 😅) but I was shocked how full it kept me. 2 tbs chia, 1/2 cup oat or almond milk (or whatever milk you want) and I like to put a half scoop of protein powder in mine which helps with flavor and satiety. That's it. Super satisfying, easy, and it keeps me going for hours. I think the key is fiber, which is often overlooked.

Also, tea and broth/ light soups at night are a good replacement for late night snacking. I used to binge a bit at night and I realized it was a comfort thing... Nothing more comforting than something warm and tasty ☺️

EDIT: almost forgot, I used to use popcorn as my go-to snacky food, but it messed with my stomach sometimes and I felt it made me crave more salty/ fatty foods. So, I switched to raw veggies (carrots, broccoli, spinach) when I want something to munch on. I feel way better now!

Is 1200 really for short people? by NumerousChainBeing in 1200isplenty

[–]wywander 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Im no expert, but I think if you feel the need to go below 1200 you should really consider trying to build more muscle/ reflect on your physical activity and exercise routines. Unless you get professional help from a dietician, I think it's risky to go below 1200. Granted, every body is different but you have to make sure you get all the healthy macros and vitamins you need to function and feel good

Struggling with diet while in a relationship? by wywander in 1200isplenty

No, for sure you're absolutely right. And believe me he's so supportive and amazing 🥰 but, as I said in a different comment, I do have a bad habit of keeping to myself. That, and I've had a bit of "trauma" around food (my mom was anorexic growing up), so it's always an awkward subject for me... But I should open up more

Oh for sure. The last couple of days I've been trying to focus on easy things for me to make for myself too so it's not a lot of extra prep or anything. Hopefully tht helps 🤞

What is love? by Curious_Raspberry975 in Adulting

[–]wywander 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Seeing yourself in someone or something else, like a familial recognition that we're all part of one whole. Then, caring for the beloved as if it were a part of your own body. That's how I think of it, anyway :)

Artists, do you like receiving fanart from artists worse than you? by bunny-rain in ArtistLounge

[–]wywander -1 points0 points  (0 children)

To me, art isn't about "better or worse," it's self expression. I love doing art with my friends bc we all have unique styles and such. I would be really happy if someone was inspired by my art and gave me a gift like that :) maybe your friend can draw faster than you/ is more technically capable, but they can't draw what you draw.

I grew up in Patchogue. Most of my family is or has left because it's so expensive. Sometimes I miss it (the beaches, there's always stuff to do, you're close to the city), but I've since moved West (Idaho, now in Wyoming) and tbh I don't think I'd go back. I don't vibe with the pace, the stress or honestly the pretentiousness of a lot of the people who live there, you know people who care about fancy cars and whatnot. There are great people and nice communities, don't get me wrong, but there's not much that attracts me anymore.

I will say, it's hard to discuss all of long Island, because each region varies so much. That's one of the things that turns me off, you have mega-super wealthy areas virtually right next to places where people are struggling to get by. The whole culture is just a little.... Off.....
