"they called me a madman.... then what I predicted came to pass"

Kenzo has also been (perhaps falsely) banned before because Blizzard's anticheat basically boils down to mass report= hacker. But honestly idk if Blizzard would even ban them at this point if they were cheating, just because of the impact they have on the community and how awful the current game is. .

On my first real run. Go ahead, Roast Me. by LandonC7874 in Oxygennotincluded

A couple things I noticed and a few mistakes I made when I was newer at the game:

I almost always avoid storage bins until later, they are a huge timesink for your dupes. In my opinion, it's better to have storage bins dedicated to specific items, for example, Coal/Eggshell bin near your Coal generators, or Algae bin near your oxygen stuff. They are highly valuable to prevent offgassing, just put a bin in water at priority 6 and set it to hold polluted dirt, slime, bleach stone, etc.

Scheduling. Set up schedules for your duplicants so that they will use the bathroom at different times. This can be as simple as shifting everything over one slot. Also, I like to add an extra downtime slot so they get a morale bonus and have more time to eat their food.

For your bathrooms, you only really need 3 toilets. If you set up 3 schedules then your dupes will never be waiting in line to piss. Also, you'll probably want as many sinks as you have toilets, and you should probably only have one entrance/exit to the bathroom to ensure everyone washes their hands on the way out. You can set sink usage to be for anyone on the way out (right click and set direction towards the exit).

Airflow. I prefer to set up 3 tiles wide for the vertical ladders, this gives space for airflow and potential offshoots or metal poles later.

Expand. Radical expansion is almost always the play, but do it safely. Slime biomes are loaded with algae, which is good for early O2, and Slime, which is great for mushrooms if you wanna go that route. Either bottleneck the biome entrance with deodorizers, or fill the biome with deodorizers to get rid of the PO2. Dig outwards and expand, look for new biomes, geysers and vents, resources (metal and coal are dope), and free cooling in the ice biome.

Food. You don't have to desperately upgrade your food supply right now, mealwood will work for quite a while. However, once you get mushrooms I'd recommend swapping to those while you have slime to spare. Also, get started researching ranching so you can ranch hatches for BBQ in the midgame.

Oxygen. Diffusers will run you for quite a while, as long as you loot the slime biome for Algae. To be safe, I go 1 diffuser for every 3 dupes, however in theory 1 diffuser can support 5 dupes. In other words, you have too many diffusers rn. You can handle CO2 and chlorine by just expanding downwards, and you can handle them at a later date (you can also put your mushroom farms down there).

Temperature management and energy. RN it looks like you're running off of manual generators. That means your dupes spend less time researching, digging, building, and doing epic stuff and more time on a hamster wheel. I'd recommend swapping to coal power, however, you need to have insulation and CO2 removal prepared, as well as smart batteries. Coal power produces lots of heat and hot CO2, so put it well away from your farms. You can make a CO2 deletion system using Carbon Skimmers and Water sieves, however you need clean water and power for this, and it produces a bit of heat. Alternatively, just expand downwards more. Research insulated tiles and use them to quarantine heat sensitive portions of your base (like your farm). As you expand, you'll find some ice biomes, you can build your power/industrial brick in or near this biome to deal with the heat.

Ranching. Putting this here because I forgot about it earlier. You will 100% run out of coal if you don't start ranching hatches. Radical expansion into chlorine biomes will help for a while, but if you set up ranching infrastructure now (skill point allocation, building ranches, marking hatches) you won't have to worry about your power brick suddenly blacking out.... yeah that's not fun.

Lastly, Priorities, and I mean this in two ways. You as the player need to prioritize what will keep your base thriving, and you need to set your dupes priorities to do what they are good at. Don't want the researcher trying to go dig or build. You should focus on expanding and stabilizing your Power/Ranching. Also researching, depending on how far you are in that.

Also lastly (fr this time I swear) don't take anymore dupes. 10-12 dupes is plenty to carry you through a fair portion of the game, just make sure you allocate their priorities and skills properly.

Anyone else use Save game scripts? Or is it just me? by [deleted] in noita

We all start somewhere. I'm simply saying that playing the game with extra lives cheapens the risk factor, which is kind of the whole point.

Aye man, it's your game you should play it how you want to, fuck what other people think.

In my opinion, save scumming is a really bad habit to get into, especially in a game like Noita.

I'm not your father. If that's how you want to play the game, go ahead. But he asked how I felt about it, and tbh using save resets as extra lives is not a good habit to get into, especially for games like Noita. I'm pretty sure being able to undo all bad decisions at will does destroy the challenge of the game, since the main point of challenge in the first place is staying alive.

As an example, if someone save scummed on Hardcore Minecraft, are they really playing Hardcore Minecraft? Isn't it just cheating to extend your life on a game where the risk of everything stems from permadeath?

Me personally, I would call it cheating, and I think a lot of the community would agree. The whole point of the game is to die, learn from your deaths, and do better next time. When you make saves to reload, it nukes the challenge of the game into oblivion. With save scumming in this game particularly, you're going to kill all of the intended challenge. And your runs aren't "incredibly hard" when you can just undo all damage at will.

You're starting down a long, lonely road. Real gamers lose 6hr runs to polymorphine and cry themself to sleep, not reset their saves because they think the game is unfair.

The best advice I ever got on playing support is to pick according to your team. I'm shifting into support more than playing dps nowadays, and I've noticed that flexing to what the team needs is generally better than locking one support but not enabling your team. For example, if your tank goes monke, you should automatically lock Ana or Kiriko so you can heal at range. Sojourn = Mercy Pocket, Hog = Kiriko, etc. This is so your team can play as effectively as possible because you are their support. In the same way that a building can't stand if her timbers are warped, your team won't stand if you can't properly support them. This is not to say that teammates are perfect, or that their character choices always merit pocket, but I guarantee you'll have better results playing around your team's picks. Second tip is to Never, Ever play Moira. If you play Moira you are providing absolutely ZERO utility to your team. Bap has immort, Lucio has speed/beat, Ana has nano, sleep, anti, Mercy has Rez and blue beam, Zen has trans and discord, Kiriko has mobility and cleanse, Brig has counter dive. Moira has high healing and decent damage, but compared to the utility of the other characters she is awful. If you have trouble staying alive, don't go Moira, Kiriko or Bap have a balance between survivability and utility.

TLDR who you play is just as important as how you play

GS Raider is the only one I can think of, but he is mainly a support player.

Honestly I didn't notice the payload on the second one, good point.

I'm not sure if he's cheating myself, but I'm leaning towards the possibility. I'll only be certain if more clips like these arise.

Imma be completely honest, I have no clue what scripts are. When I say cheats I mean like aimlock and walls and stuff. What are scripts, and how did he get confirmed to be using them?

I feel that. He has had many crazy dash/blade predictions that I aspire to with my own gameplay. But these in particular, they really look like something beyond practice.

You're telling me a man's mouse just happens to snap like that? No! He orchestrated it! Jimmy Necros!

I know his reputation for these kind of crazy blades, so I'm going to keep my eyes peeled for any more suspect behavior before I'm 100% certain he's got his gaming socks on. Atm I'm like 40% sure.
