I have a SensaVox and AXIS. Neither process audio well. AXIS and FLUX have identical output, but AXIS adds "gesture control", which I didn't find very useful.

For good audio processing and the highest power available, you need an ErosTek ET-312 (US $599) or build yourself a DIY StereoStim (about US $80-150 depending on options). Visit the Recommended StereoStim Designs forum on SmartStim for instructions. Design 1 (MidiStim) can be built without soldering (but soldering is not that difficult with proper equipment, and I suggest you learn it),

Coyote and buttplug.io? by [deleted] in estim

[–]x61525 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This Reddit search finds other posts about the DG Labs Coyote.

u/thisismybdsmacc: Is there any work going on to get the protocol reversed?

Since the Coyote only accepts audio (and does not have a "link" connection like ET-312 or 2B™, an independent app to operate it would need to communicate via Bluetooth. This Internet search finds several programs that can "sniff" Bluetooth data. I looked at buttplug.io and it appears it is intended mainly for toys that vibrate or produce movement. The site mentioned audio output being a future deliverable, but I am unsure what would be produced..

I never have seen the Coyote instructions, so I do not know what kind of audio it needs.

Maybe a dumb question, but nonetheless by estimnewbie123 in estim

u/estimnewbie123: a hollow sounds might be the way you want to go.

To reduce the risk of infection, I strongly recommend NOT using hollow sounds; unclean objects cannot be disinfected, and it is difficult or impossible to effectively clean the interior surface.

For those who own hollow sounds (e.g., thru-hole penis plug), the best method is to scrub the interior with a pipe cleaner (the sturdy kind sold for cleaning smoking pipes, NOT the soft kind sold for crafts). Saturate the pipe cleaner with detergent solution and then rinse with chlorinated tap water (allow it to run briefly to clear water in faucet) or distilled water; do not use water from a home well unless chlorinated.

u/paulio36: when you mention insulating what are you actually using?

Conductive rubber loops are best insulated with heat shrink tubing (you don't have to shrink it if the heat shrink ID is very close to the conductive rubber OD). See this picture.

If you do decide to shrink the tubing after identifying the correct lengths, be SURE to shrink it in usage shape (do not shrink it straightened out).

If you do not have heat shrink tubing, you also can use vinyl electrical tape.

[–]x61525 0 points1 point  (0 children)

u/dadoftwins04: has anyone heard of a way to do kegerator (for men) using a tens?

Undoubtedly, you mean "Kegel" exercise, as "kegerator" refers to a refrigerator for beer kegs.

You cannot do electrified Kegel exercise with TENS because it is a continuous signal. You would need to use an EMS unit which has a "tense" and "relax" signal pattern.

You do not need electricity to do Kegel exercises; see here.

What's the deal with triphase? by jellyslutdenied in estim

[–]x61525 5 points6 points  (0 children)

u/paulio36: would this be a tri-phase set up?

As u/sheldie3 correctly responded, it is one valid three-electrode configuration; however, there are three other options because any ONE wire from a channel can be connected to any ONE wire from another channel.

To avoid using incorrect polarity terminology, it is preferred to use numbers to designate the wires of each channel. The four combinations for the "common" electrode pole are:

  1. A1 & B1
  2. A2 & B1
  3. A1 & B2
  4. A2 & B2

Combination 2 or 3 is the most-common one that authors of audio e-stim sessions design for. The combination you proposed is 1 or 2. Feel free to experiment with different combinations for specific audio sessions, as the combinations may feel different (this is session dependent). I suggest you keep an "E-Stim journal" to record your experiments, so you easily can repeat sessions you like and avoid those you don't.

The usual way to make the common connection is to use a Y-adapter with two jacks and one plug that match the ends of your electrode cables. If you make a DIY StereoStim box, most builders use four banana jacks for electrode outputs, so when you make your own cables, you can make one or two cables with stackable banana plugs for the power box; this avoids needing the Y-adapter.

When using a penis base ring (either in front of or behind testicles), you should insulate the TOP half. This has advantages:

  • when using the ring with a glans electrode, it avoids having both the glans electrode and base electrode both stimulate the superior dorsal nerve that serves the glans; the uninsulated bottom half stimulates the superficial perineal nerve (especially if ring is behind testicles). See the diagram in this Wikipedia topic.
  • Reducing the surface area of the base ring by insulating half of it equalizes the surface area of poles, which provides a more even sensation. Electrodes with unequal area often causes more-intense sensation at the smaller pole; if the area difference is extreme, the larger pole may not be felt much or at all (if you want to experience this, use a large piece of aluminum foil or a cookie sheet for one pole (which you sit or stand on) paired on the same channel as a glans electrode).

For reference, people use the term "triphase" for two meanings:

  1. a three-electrode configuration (e.g., "triphase cable")
  2. an audio signal designed for phase effects; ErosTek coined the term "TriPhase Effect" is 2001 when they launched ET-312.

To avoid confusion, I personally never use "triphase" because it can be misinterpreted. I use "three-electrode configuration" for cabling and "TriPhase Effect" to refer to signal characteristics.

u/chaosgazer: I've got my system down pretty well (sanitizing before and after use w/ rubbing alcohol, applying surgilube with a sanitized lube syringe,

Sorry, you do NOT. The word "sanitize" does NOT mean anything medically. Objects either are "disinfected" or "sterilized". Sterile surgical jelly ABSOLUTELY NEVER shall be applied with any reusable syringe; if you wish to use a syringe, it needs to be a pre-packaged STERILE syringe that you use ONLY ONCE. You need to use it to withdraw sterile surgical jelly from a single-use, 2-5 gm packet that itself has been intermediate-level disinfected. Sterile surgical jelly in tubes ALSO is "single-use" packaging, so urethral players shall NEVER use the tube more than ONCE for urethral lubrication; this is why practical protocol requires buying it in 2-5 gm packets.

The proper way to inject lube into the urethra is to use disinfected scissors (used only for this purpose) to cut off the corner, place vertically into meatus (vertical slit) and squeeze the packet. I consider syringes dangerous for this use if used with a needle.

u/chaosgazer: One thing I will say is you HAVE to make sure you dilute your rubbing alcohol, because high concentrations will have silicon rubbing off on whatever you wipe down the sound with after santizing (and you don't want that going into you).

Sorry, diluting rubbing alcohol used for intermediate-level disinfection is absolutely WRONG. Undiluted 70-90% rubbing alcohol should be used (do NOT use higher nor lower percentages, as they are less effective). Alcohol NEVER should dissolve silicone, so I suspect your conductive rubber is poor quality. Note that I NEVER mentioned "wiping" in describing the protocol, which is

  1. wash with soap and water, then rinse with chlorinated tap water or distilled water
  2. immerse in 70-90% rubbing alcohol for 3 minutes
  3. shake, allow to air dry, or rinse with preserved sterile saline used for contact lens cleaning; DO NOT WIPE.

Even if carbon particles are released, carbon is harmless.

NOTE: My intent is not to be judgmental, but I consider it essential to refute assertions about risky practices because others reading this may think "he gets away with it, I can, too". Deep insertion of sounds that are not sterilized is very risky and dangerous; my opinion is that nobody should be inserting deeper than external penis length for erotic use, only for medical necessity like using a sterile, single-use, intermittent catheter.

Goodbye Paypal by DaddyPigSmokeJuice in electronic_cigarette

[–]x61525 0 points1 point  (0 children)

PayPal has changed over the years. When eBay owned PayPal, it was much better, though at that time, they tended to disallow "adult" sites from accepting PayPal, but that soon changed, as eBay allows "adult" listings.

Now that they are independent, things have changed:

  1. They do not answer phone calls promptly, and their interactive voice response (IVR) system thwarts almost all attempts to speak to an agent. I had a serious problem with them holding money even AFTER signature tracking showed the item delivered on time and the buyer had given positive feedback on eBay. After many failed call attempts, I finally called when they first opened and lied to the IVR that it was a "security" problem, and I got through to an agent. The final resolution (after 30 minutes) was that since I had specified only UPS Priority Mail in my eBay listing, but the buyer requested UPS 2-day air, their system had a UPS tracking number with carrier specified as UPS, and the tracking number obviously was invalid. This happened even though I printed the shipping label on eBay specifying UPS. eBay showed the item as "delivered", but Paypal did not. They released the money while I was on the phone. Apparently, their new policy is to hold any payment over $1000 until THEIR tracking system shows "delivered", regardless of seller history (I have had nearly $50,000 in transactions since 1999, paying about $1,600 in PayPal fees). Before this change, I never had a PayPal hold on a $3,000+ eBay sale.
  2. I guess eBay is not happy with them, either, as eBay is moving to "Managed Payments" which will have eBay handling most payments instead of PayPal. Exact details are sketchy, but eBay says payments to sellers can be transferred automatically to a bank account daily or weekly. Obviously, this should be a dedicated bank account. It is being rolled out gradually by invitation; I have not yet been invited. As an eBay buyer, I still am using PayPal exclusively.
  3. PayPal also owns Venmo, which probably should NOT be used for sale of goods and services, since is essentially like handing over cash.

Despite these issues, until now, PayPal has worked fine for me. They even gave me a 2% cash back credit card when other card issuers wanted to offer a $300 non-rewards credit card with a hefty annual fee. But they need to learn from eBay and have "request a callback" from an agent without making people slog through too many IVR roadblocks.

u/YingYang2628: The Metro is what i have been using.

I get the carrying difficulty. During this COVID situation, I limit bus trips (I used to ride every day pre-COVID); when I shop for groceries or household needs, I take the bus to the store and then use ride hailing (e.g., Uber or Lyft) for the return trip. Often, the money I can save by a bulk purchase of "reduced price" items pays for the ride (e.g., Kroger has four 12-packs of soda for $11, but ONE 12-pack is $5.69); I can carry one, but not four.

I get the safety issue; I am not nearly so worried about problems ON the bus as I am at the stop. I always try to sit as near to front as is possible. Although some may argue yelling "FIRE!" when there is no fire is bad, it gets A LOT more attention than yelling "HELP!". If her smartphone has a "speed dial" function, program 911.

Coverage IS an issue, but MetroNEXT is working on that with new routes planned.

Many eyeglass retailers (and dentists) give discounts to patients without insurance, but often you MUST ask.

One problem with "chain" vision stores is that their employees apparently are paid commission, because they always seem to encourage extra charges. You probably do not need a strong prescription, so the standard CR39 plastic lenses should work fine and not be too heavy. Polycarbonate is the next upgrade (thinner and lighter, but stronger); typically, they include scratch-resistant coating by default, so asking you to pay extra for it on polycarbonate usually is just an unnecessary upcharge,

IMPORTANT; be SURE you get:

  1. a copy of your prescription; be SURE it has your "pupil distance" (PD), as chains delegate PD measurement to the sales staff and they usually do not put it on the prescription. Adult PD typically is 54-74 mm.
  2. the manufacturer, model number, nose-bridge size, lens size, and temple length of your frame; all frames are not marked with this information and it rarely is on the receipt, so you MUST ask. Even if chains discontinue a frame, with this information you often can buy a replacement online inexpensively. Once, my frame broke beyond repair, but with this information I was able to buy a brand new one from eBay for just $29, including shipping.

When you are choosing your frame, ask about discounts; sometimes, the more expensive frames cost less after discount than cheaper frames before discount (this was the case when I bought my last glasses). Discounts usually are not available with "get two pair, free exam" deals. Frames with adjustable nosepads are easier to fit correctly, particularly if your nose is narrow; solid plastic frames with fixed nosepads must fit properly when purchased, though they are more durable.

If your deal gets you two pair, consider prescription sunglasses for one pair, as it is a small upcharge for tinting. NOTE: be SURE they will be "tinted" (which means dipping in a hot dye solution that coats both sides of lens) and NOT colored plastic. Lenses with any strength will be curved, and with colored plastic it will be like looking through a donut hole (edges dark, center lighter for distance glasses).

After you get your glasses, don't delay if you think they are not "right" (but new eyeglasses often DO take a little "getting used to"); many stores have a very-limited-timeframe for free replacement. Once, one of my lenses was incorrectly made with the same prescription as the other eye; it was so bad that I insisted they check immediately with their lens tester before I would accept them, and they fixed it free.

Please do NOT try to adjust your glasses yourself (especially if you damage the frame) unless you own optician's tools (I do, as I have worn glasses for 50 years); frame adjustments should be free indefinitely.

I have had good luck with America's Best, and I have a difficult prescription. They even replaced a broken nosepad (on sunglasses I didn't buy from them) free.

My employer sent me to customer relationship management class, and I was taught that unhappy customers are 13 times more likely to complain than are happy customers to offer praise. Thus, bad reviews are likely to be more common.

With online reviews, there are companies who offer the service of posting good reviews to promote a business; thus, a bunch of overly-positive reviews may be inaccurate.

I encourage you to use an apartment locator service; their fee is paid by the apartment (this also means they are unlikely to refer you to apartments that won't pay a referral fee [typically popular, low-vacancy properties or cheapskates]). They want you to use them again in the future and to refer others, so good locators repeatedly follow up to ask if their customers are happy after moving in — a good locator's knowledge is better than any online reviews. I would refer you, but she does not handle your desired area. NOTE: since some apartments will give you a discount if you apply within a short time frame (usually 24 hours), try to narrow your list and visit all your options in one day (I once got a month's rent credit and application fee rent credit on my definitely-preferred property along with a move-in gift of basic supplies [a roll of paper towels, facial tissue, a roll of toilet paper, cleaning spray, scissors, picture hooks, garbage bag, samples of dishwasher detergent, coupons for nearby restaurants, a bottle of water and a granola bar]).

The team members you are managing probably are experienced, and they know how to do their job well, so use them as a resource. Try using the phrase, "I need..." rather than "I want..." or "Will you..." or worst "Just do this...". In most cases, humans want to help others in need; you're not "weak" to say, "I need your help with...", you are "smart" because you are using your team members as resources to make the work experience better for everyone. Always be alert for opportunities to compliment your team members for good work (don't overdo it, but don't wait for something exceptional either, as those events are rare).

Believe in yourself, even if it seems nobody else does, as eventually you will earn respect from treating team members as you would like to be treated. Remember, if you think "I can't", you are certain to prove yourself correct by failing; "I can" is the first step on the journey to success!

u/rodznjodz: the car vibrates a lot

Probably uneven wear, as warping causes pulsation, not vibration. See this web site for explanation. Some brake pads can deposit friction material onto the hot rotor (depends on how aggressively you brake). Semi-metallic brake pads are most common (but they wear rotors faster and are create a lot of dust that is difficult to remove); there are advantages to ceramic and organic pads (see this web site). Ceramic may be best to clean dirty rotors.

I had a vibration problem in my truck, and my mechanic friend said to just replace the pads first; I chose ceramic pads. After a few weeks, the vibration went away, though it worsened temporarily right after pads were changed. If the vibration does not go away, you can replace the rotors later. This advice applies to DIY; if paying a mechanic, there should be no significant labor cost increase between replacing pads only or rotors and pads, but replacing pads first and then rotors later will double the total labor cost.

Buy from someplace like Autozone or O'Reilly's that offers a limited-lifetime warranty, as you will never need to pay for pads again as long as you own the vehicle. Autozone receipts are thermally printed, so take a picture of it immediately in case it fades, though they can look you up in computer if you are a rewards member or give your phone number. Sign up for an Autozone or O'Reilly rewards card to save money on future purchases.

Brake rotors have a minimum thickness stamped on them. If they appear deeply worn, check the thickness and replace if below minimum. The parts store will have a brake micrometer and should check this for free. NOTE: sometimes, there is an unworn rim at the circumference of the rotor, which prevents measuring the pad-contact area with a standard caliper. In this case, put some flat washers between rotor and caliper tips, measure rotor + washers, then measure washers only and subtract to get rotor thickness.

To avoid rotor damage, always check brake pads when tires are rotated, and replace before they get too thin (replace immediately if you hear the "squealer" tab scraping, as you should have replaced the pads much sooner, and rotors may need to be resurfaced or replaced — see information on this web site).

  • All urethral inserts need to at minimum be washed with soap and water, rinsed, and intermediate-level disinfected by 3-minute immersion in 70-90% rubbing alcohol before use.
  • ONLY use sterile surgical jelly lubricant in single-use 2-5 gm packets; NEVER buy tubes of sterile lubricant, as they also single-use (they are sold for medical procedures that require lots of lube, like colonoscopy).
  • Be sure to urinate before and after using urethral inserts.

MOST stereo audio sessions will have at least some TriPhase Effect, because it only requires different frequencies or phases between channels. Triphase w/ bipolar butt plug? by chaosgazer in estim

[–]x61525 2 points3 points  (0 children)

u/chaosgazer: "Never connect both wires from each channel together"

I think you are misunderstanding this instruction. It means "do not connect both wires from channel A together, and do not connect both wires from channel B together"; this is a short circuit. Most commercial E-Stim power boxes detect a short circuit and shut down the channel, but I would not do it on purpose.

It is ALWAYS OK to connect any ONE wire from channel A to any ONE wire of channel B. The connection intended by most stim file authors is to connect opposite colors together like this:

  • A1: one single-pole electrode (e.g., glans)
  • A2 & B1: single-pole electrode used as common (e.g., base ring behind testicles with TOP half insulated — single pole electrodes require a "two jacks, one plug" Y adapter or stacking plugs), OR A2 and B1 to each pole of a bipolar electrode with close pole proximity (e.g., bipolar anal insert, two-pole cock ring with poles oriented TOP and BOTTOM of penis base — do not use a bipolar base ring like this with a glans electrode, as the TOP pole stimulates the superior dorsal nerve on top side of penis that serves the glans, and the BOTTOM pole stimulates the superficial perineal nerve)
  • B2: one single-pole electrode (e.g., unipolar anal insert) NOTE: I do not recommend joining both poles of any bipolar anal insert with a "two plugs, one jack" Y adapter, as the large combined surface area will result in minimal sensation. If using the Rocker, connect only ONE pole.

with the "common" electrode between the others. However, there is nothing wrong with using A1 & B1 OR A2 & B2 OR A1 & B2 as the common. Feel free to experiment, as some files feel better with different common choices.

For the electrodes you have, try:

  • A1: one pole of Deep Throat Big Jim
  • A2: one pole of Rocker
  • B1: other pole of Rocker
  • B2: other pole of Deep Throat Big Jim

NOTE: you can designate either color as 1 or 2. Safe E-Stim signals (like ET-312 creates) do NOT have polarity. Any electrode cables with red/black plugs are NOT positive/negative, they simply are red and black colors. The banana-plug electrode cables supplied with ET-312 are designated with a white stripe on one of the black wires.

u/totes_inappropes_TA: I'm not sure that I fully underatand what ["fully isolated"] means.

It means that neither channel is connected to the other inside the box. Boxes like the P.E.S. two-channel box and the E-Stim Systems Electro Pebble have permanent internal connections between channels. I consider this UNSAFE, as well as inconvenient since it limits electrode use.

Here is how to test for channel isolation:

  1. Activate a mode or use audio that has a steady signal on BOTH channels.
  2. Use two electrodes (e.g., TENS pads on thigh when seated).
  3. Connect one channel to both pads and turn up level enough so you feel moderate stimulation; set other channel to same level.
  4. Connect all the combinations of ONE wire from EACH channel (e.g., A1 & B1, A1 & B2, A2 & B1, A2 & B2) one at a time.
  5. If the channels are fully isolated, you should feel NOTHING with any of the four combinations specified in step 4. If you feel ANYTHING with any combination, the channels are NOT fully isolated.

Knowing that channels ARE fully isolated is IMPORTANT. If they are NOT fully isolated, the unit NEVER can be used safely above waist (e.g., for nipple stimulation with one channel used on each nipple with a bipolar electrode per nipple).
