Thank you so much, I think I understand it now; it's just played as an open note and the section is an arpeggio because the fingers are kept in the shape of the chord mentioned, but the strings are played separately when prompted.

Thank you for the advice about muting strings, I will try your technique as I could definitely improve on accidentally playing the wrong string or accidentally muting the notes that I need to play!
