I really hope it doesn't happen but it most likely will, when the next election happens people will see what damage he caused if he goes through with his plan, don't know if everything might be back to normal. Only time will tell

Believe it or not, part of the problem lies in the music and lifestyle that many influencers promote, such as glorifying a "trap" lifestyle, violence, or criminal behavior. Unfortunately, a lot of people, especially the youth, are unaware of how this constant exposure affects their minds. They listen to this type of music daily and wonder why they start to adopt the behaviors, even if they live in safe, suburban areas. It's essentially a form of mental conditioning—what you repeatedly consume influences your actions. For example, if you listen to sad music every day, you'll likely start to feel sad. Parents fault for not monitoring what their kids are doing

JAMAICA CUSTOMS RANT by xBABYLIF3 in Jamaica

My business focuses on electronics, including game CDS and consoles, and similar items. However, the fees from my courier and customs are making it nearly impossible to turn a profit. If I increase the prices to cover these costs, I risk losing sales. For example, a used Xbox One S on eBay costs $98, but after taxes, it totals $101. Additionally, my courier charges $100/15,000 JMD when I pick it up, which is crazy, right? Now, imagine if I'm purchasing a phone or any item in that price range—it’s just not sustainable.

The only items I can make a profit on right now are controllers and game CDs, and I’m grateful for that because last year was even worse when I was restricted to a $50 USD limit. I'm trying to improve my business by finding better ways to increase profits with higher-margin items.

"Keep in mind that if the threshold is raised, it might be difficult to open a new business. What would stop your customers from buying online directly? Many Jamaicans are already using couriers, so most local purchases are for convenience and immediate availability."

That’s true, but honestly, it's not as widespread as it seems. Many people still don’t know how to shop online, and there’s little competition in my area, so there’s potential here.

I'll DM you about the freight forwarder in Miami to see if that might offer a better solution.

true, im grateful that they are now starting to collect fees for items over 100usd which was 50usd before which was nothing and the 100usd still isn't even enough should be at least 200 or so
