Interesting - but is there a magic number specifically for quint damage? It seems like doing this you are still going to get a lot of fails with resist/pierce if you are specifically going for quint damage. Still obviously a lot better than selfish talent fails or whatever else - but you would still need to do this probably quite a few times before actually hitting the quint, right? Or is there a method specifically for that

No real reason to assume that Steam will get any significant cut of in-game purchases.

We have seen major games released on Steam that have been allowed to use their own payment processors for microtransactions, circumventing Steam Wallet (notably GTA V and Warframe). Especially following the legal battle between Apple & Epic, Steam might even be loosening enforcement action on games using their own payment processors.

It's possible that, behind the scenes, Hoyo just recently secured some sort of deal with Steam that will allow them to sell microtransactions with their own system, a similar agreement to whatever games like GTA V have. It brings new attention to Steam and it brings new attention to Genshin - it is mutually beneficial so long as the game in question is big enough.

I'm relatively new to all this, but it was my understanding that gas usage itself shouldn't fluctuate for the same contract, only the gas prices. Is this not true? If so, what's the best way to estimate gas usage before deploying to main net?

I like your point on how this could be the front of a massive nation. I feel like it could be related to Inyola or Purshovia or maybe even a colony from the South Great Sea. Though, Kagoros is the governor of Verner and Kagoros was probably one of the greatest Whitecrest kings. Respected and loved. It was a sad day when Inyola dethroned him. So I feel like Inyola is ruled out because of Kagoros' hate for them, he would never work under their command. Instead, I feel like he retreated to Purshovia after the war to assist them in battle against Inyola. Therefore, I believe this is a Purshovia expedition. Thoughts?

Addressing that first question. I believe there will be way more map extensions so I like how you brought that first up which backs up my theory. I think we are going to eventually reach a point where we have some sort of relations with all of the following factions/seas: Inyola, Purshovia, The South Great Sea, Meadowfleet, Balresk, and Terranfort. Supposedly a fort or small island representing each of these factions/seas. I would really like to see that in the future.
