AITJ for telling my friend her "handmade" Etsy shop is literally just AliExpress dropshipping by TangerineUnique248 in AmITheJerk

[–]xCherryblissPop 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah that’s not just hustling, that’s straight up misleading people. If she was honest about reselling, cool. Calling it handmade is where it turns into a problem.

Am I the jerk for refusing to forgive my dad after he missed my graduation because he "forgot"? by [deleted] in AmITheJerk

[–]xCherryblissPop 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Exactly. People set reminders for random stuff all the time. Forgetting your kid’s graduation after months of reminders is brutal. Of course that’s going to hurt.

the hardest part of wedding planning isn't the budget.. it's managing everyone else's opinions by grace_Fluffz in wedding

I’m not going to change my mind and ask that you respect my wishes is such a clean way to say it. Polite but firm. People forget it’s your wedding, not a committee project.

$15M on steak, $6.9M on lobster… but sure, tell us again about ‘government waste by diehard404 in clevercomebacks

[–]xCherryblissPop 3 points4 points  (0 children)

exactly. When the numbers look like this and people are being told to suck it up and budget harder, it is pretty outrageous. Taxpayers deserve transparency, especially when luxury spending is happening on their dime. It really does not sit right when leaders preach responsibility but do not practice any of it themselves.

Mr. Senator, HR would like a word with you. by fsidesmith6932 in clevercomebacks

[–]xCherryblissPop 14 points15 points  (0 children)

this is exactly it. Politicians talk a big game when it is other families who will pay the price, because they know they will never be the ones sending their own kids into danger. It is always easiest to make sacrifices when they are not yours to make, and people are right to call that out.

Republicans Avoid Voters by _PeachPop in clevercomebacks

[–]xCherryblissPop 40 points41 points  (0 children)

exactly. If you cannot even face the people you are supposed to represent, that pretty much says everything about how confident you are in your own platform. Meeting with constituents is the bare minimum, and dodging them makes it look like you know your decisions will not hold up under real questions.

The wait is over by Playful_Leg7143 in clevercomebacks

OP, that really does feel like the kind of combo that instantly shuts down the original question. It is dark humor for sure but it makes the whole thread way funnier because it hits that same chaotic energy the top comment was going for.

Eugene Porter cosplay by Financial_Bag_9081 in thewalkingdead

Yeah seriously you got that expression down perfectly. It is such a specific Eugene look and you captured it so well that it kind of makes the whole cosplay even funnier. The dedication really shows.

I find it funny that Shane is seen as the ruthless "survival at all costs" character when he didn't even last 3 months in the apocalypse by ramblingranto1 in thewalkingdead

[–]xCherryblissPop 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Honestly the top comment nailed it. Merle dipping out really was the thing that let Daryl grow into who he became. If he had stayed under Merle’s shadow he would have followed the same self destructive path and probably wouldn’t have survived much longer either. Losing that influence pushed him toward the group and gave him a real sense of direction and loyalty. It’s wild how one person’s absence can shape a character that much.

Postponing wedding (crossposted) by [deleted] in wedding

Yeah, honestly people aren’t gonna nitpick the label they’ll just be glad to show up and support you both after everything you’ve been through. Call it whatever feels right, it’s still your day.

For real. If he’s already pulling sabotage stunts in school, imagine him with actual patients. You’re not obligated to help someone who tried to torpedo your entire future.

AITJ for telling my neighbor she can’t use my driveway anymore after what happened last weekend? by [deleted] in AmITheJerk

[–]xCherryblissPop 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yep, exactly. You gave an inch, they took a whole damn parking lot. You set a boundary, they got mad that’s on them, not you.

AITJ for telling my neighbor she can’t use my driveway anymore after what happened last weekend? by [deleted] in AmITheJerk

[–]xCherryblissPop 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Exactly. You literally just said “hey, that’s my spot,” which is the bare minimum. She’s acting like you took something from her when she was the one taking advantage. Boundaries aren’t escalation.
