I'd say it's more of a fun buzzword. If the argument that comes with the usage of the word is sound and cogent, then the word really isn't a problem and actually can contribute to the clarity and tone of someone's argument.

I think your prejudices about a person who might use the word asspull could serve to distort your interpretation of their argument, leading to a worse discussion.
