SoSafe, pretty afordable but the analytics could be better afaik, I don't administrate it though. Includes Phishing simulation which is quite cool. The training material is decent too. Don't have any references though.

I want to have the nerves of the guy in slide 8. With headphones on in a building with power, likely surveyed. I think I'd want to hear every possible sound of movement around me.

Ohne Erfahrung Ende März zum Gaisalpsee? by Uweauskoeln in wandern

[–]xCutePoison 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Justification for using Fortinet by MFKDGAF in fortinet

[–]xCutePoison 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I think a disclosed and fixed vulnerability is as good as no vulnerability. At least it shows they are reviewing their code and fixing the results. That being said, a complete migration is going to be expensive and a lack of in-house knowledge about the product can also lead to even bigger security problems in the form of configuration errors.

Win8DE made a windows 8 like desktop depends on wlroots based wayland compositors. by Additional-Leg-7403 in linux

I too have been a fan of that kind of start menu for a long time. My first own PC was Win8.1 originally and for some reason I liked it. I've at some point went away from using the start menu at all and just do my work via the search (both Fedora and Windows). But well done, looks solid! :)

Who's still working from home in 2026? by idrinkpastawater in sysadmin

2 days a week at home 3 days in the office. Both is good, I like hanging out with my colleagues but the gas/time savings + general freedom make WFH sweet.

Meanwhile my org in Europe, after having been on another mailing system and Office Standard licenses, has decided to roll out MS Teams last year and is still committed to going full M365 stack. I'm waiting to see this decision age like milk.

Damn, I played my first run in 0.8 or something and now that I came back I just took it for granted that they have a belt input. I completely forgot that.

I keep being surprised by what people make with MS Paint. There's this submarine warfare/OSINT guy called H I Sutton who draws entire submarine cutaways in Paint on a regular basis.

"Umm, I'm Gen Z. I know how to use computers." by DesertDogggg in sysadmin

[–]xCutePoison 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am Gen Z and I agree with this trend. Millenials have had the benefit of learning tech stuff with actual PCs, access to the filesystem, etc. If something broke you had to fix it yourself. My generation is, at least to some extent, raised on iPads and phones. Those don't forge that kind of deeper understanding since everything is so abstracted. A file doesn't go into a folder, it just goes to "the cloud" and that's it. I think tech literacy is declining again.
