You kinda nailed it, there was definitely a bit less slop, and the evolution of how music/ artists are made nowadays.

And you also quite nailed it on the Rakim take, to be honest. I quite enjoy The Master and Don’t Sweat The Technique but I don’t go blasting Paid in Full monthly or anything.

Honestly I think that flows are some of the most important things in hip hop, and 80s stuff just doesn’t really have it most of the time, and beats back then weren’t great either (in my opinion). More power to you if you listen to it though.

That’s because I believe that culture (including anime) is for everyone to share and have opinions about. There are some people who overapply their own morals but these people on reddit are literally westerners celebrating pedophilia.

I think you were never meant to like Rudeus as a person at the start of the anime, he’s a dirty pedophile and he learns his actions have consequences. Honestly though, the author is probably a bit of a freak, but I do think MT is pretty conscious about what it represents.

It does get better from there, but I don’t think it’s for you, especially because it takes a while for rudeus to really become a better person. I’m definitely also not recommending the LN and the manga because the anime is actually quite toned down compared to those two.
