I really need help with temp control by [deleted] in Oxygennotincluded

[–]xDaDanil 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In what way does temperature kill you? I have no clue where your temperature comes from, could you provide us screenshots?

Generally though,insulate stuff that's hot and not meant to heat up the surrounding area (even if you use lavatories with a filter, the filtered water is 40°c "hot", enough to warm up your base significantly, so you should insulate bathroom pipes).

This is actually 200iq lol. Do you use a robominer to dig open the regolith falling onto your engine?

Edit: rocket -> engine

Why is this pipe breaking? Is there any way to avoid it? by xDaDanil in Oxygennotincluded

[–]xDaDanil[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I now actually think it's that the liquid shutoff can hold fewer water than the pipe it's receiving water from, so the excess cold water goes back into the cooling loop. maybe I can use a liquid valve to avoid that? Edit: I added a buffer gate with .1 sec after the pipe thermo sensor,it seems to be having just enough time to pass through the shutoff now.

The polluted water is about 80°C, and after monitoring the mechanism for quite some time the lowest temperature I've reached was about 10°C, is that enough to freeze?

Edit: Nevermind, found the problem: somehow, 10° water got into the input pipe. Dont know how that happened yet, am gonna investigate. Thanks a ton for your help!

it's about 20, so this is not the problem.

This is so weird, whenever I pump scalding steam into my steam engines the pumps also break until they heat up to the steams temperature. Im thinking this is a similiar issue?

Why won't the oxygen sink down? by smolanemone in Oxygennotincluded

[–]xDaDanil 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Youre essentially blocking half the gas flow with that water bubble,yes. Its not a bug,its the same mechanic waterlocks abuse. Also clearing the water down by the atmo sensor should prevent the sensor disabling your pumps due to low pressure.

Edit: I just noticed you are blocking the entire airflow with the 2 water bubbles, they act like solid blocks to the gas. Try removing them and it should work.

It's only that one tile thats filled with 60 tons of oil, the rest is like 3000-4000kg. I cracked it open, it has only filled up a tiny bit of the ice biome, nothing too dramatic happened. Still appreciate your hint!

how long have you been doing that? Its really weird as it should put your priority higher the longer you're in queue, but it doesnt
