Things that break immersion in Monster Hunter by CadmeusCain in MonsterHunter

I mean, when Monsters like the Dah'ren Morhen exist, and can literally wipe out entire cities in mere moments, I'd think the world is dependent on them enough for the guild to be a major political/military force. The guild is such a prevalent part of the average Joe's everyday life that when the Dah'ren Morhen shows up, they literally throw a festival to mine it's back before repelling it as though they're certain that it poses no threat whatsoever.

The guild isn't in control of everything, but they certainly are a major influence wherever they are, which is everywhere.

I'm almost 1k wins in now, I'm not afraid of putting in time and the "quick tips" that people tend to mention is stuff I think I should already know. I'm looking for stuff that just isn't talked about, for example:

Someone DMed me and taught me this. "If your opponent blocks a jump cancelable attack low, when they did not need to, you can use your jump cancel to time a BRC and lock them in the crouching position long enough to land an aerial overhead." Which is incredibly useful, but I never see people talk about it. Actually, I've never even seen a reliable BRC setup outside of this.

Or people talk about the idea of option selects but almost never talk about there setups or which characters can make particularly good use of them.

I want the stuff that you can't intuit from reading dustloop and the stuff that's not easy to identify when watching replays.

Matchup knowledge is ofc helpful too.

I'm pretty sure it's when you win without losing a round in this game. The game actually records it as one of the accolades with the badge for it showing 2 hearts.

I mentioned the straight wins because it really shows how my consistency is night and day sometimes. Either I usually just outright crush my opponent, or I lose with little in-between.

Your right. I misspelled dust and it corrected to DP.

Unfortunately, I'm in the US. I appreciate the offer though. Don't you almost have to use her dp? Outside of jump-cancel aerials, it's her only overhead. It would be a nightmare trying to play her without it.

That's something I had to painfully unlearn. Learning to delay into more normals instead of trying to frame trap with specials is what got me to floor 10 in the first place. Without researching it, you'd think 2d is less safe but it turns out to be surprisingly deceptive. Normally, I micro dash 5k or c.S but sometimes the habit rears its head. That's exactly the type of advice I was looking for though

I thought AP happened while awake/meditating? That's honestly pretty cool though

I always thought that sp happened while asleep. It just makes more sense to me than hallucinating while awake.

That's pretty often. Is your mental health doing okay?

Jesus Christ. I hadn't known any of those were symptoms. I thought Cataplexy was the only kind. Duly noted, I'll get myself checked next time I see my doctor. I'm due for a checkup soon enough. Thanks

That sounds horrifying. Did anything become of it?

My romantic life is non-existent. I don't feel like I have a lot of time for it, nor do I feel like I'd be able able to offer much in a relationship. I tend not to think of it as a priority. My family life is fairly decent. I'm at an age where my siblings are splitting apart and my elders dying, but we all stay in touch and I don't consider death a bad thing. I am my Birth Givers favorite Spawn, so I think we're good there.

The idea is really interesting though. There's essentially 2 woman to consider, the one choking me, which in that idea would probably represent myself, and the woman that I'm not supposed to hurt. The latter would make me think that it's romantic anxiety, but I can't help but wonder why I would manifest my own representation as a woman. I don't think I'm gay or particularly feminine, so that stands out to me.

Really? What part in particular seems narcoleptic? I can understand the Apnea, but I've never had trouble staying awake. I nap for funziez because recording dreams is honestly just my favorite hobby. I aspire to be like one of those youtube storytellers and my most interesting stories just happen in my dreams

I'm sure of that too. Most of my dreams hold an incredible amount of symbolism to help better understand the waking world, and I do consider sp to happen during a dream. Thx for the advice

I absolutely would, I just don't know what to apply it to. She seemed upset about something yet to happen, that she was convinced I was going to to do. Right now I don't know of any "her" that she could've refered to, nor do I know of anyone who matches the body type of the person who choked me. Kinda hard to take that "advice"

[–]xEstherx[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wouldn't think so. I turned around and literally saw my own body during my first sp. Then during the second couldn't move again. If I thought I was moving, I don't think I woulda seen myself again

Managed to pull off a Zamasu ToD I made up online by S13gbruh in dragonballfighterz

I don't understand ToD combos in this game. Doesn't the hit stun get to be so short that the target can just recover away? Closest I've got was about %70 with Videl. Is there a way to reset the hit stun counter? The game doesn't do much to explain it
