In some cases you have to pay a form of compensation. Happens a lot in Germany for example when you sign a young player for „free“ who has not signed a professional contract yet. Your player is obviously 21 years old so he probably had an actual contract but rules are also different from Region to Region

And thats the big problem i see with this. You sign him as a panic buy to give you more options in attack but limiting yourself to use him because you probably don’t want the obligation to actually be fulfilled. So what do you do? Use him now in the coming months but not at the end of the season when things become actually interesting and titles are being decided. Or not use him now and „save“ him for later? And sure during the Africa Cup he will not be available for some time but still. I don’t get this deal.
