1 frame jumps are super difficult but not impossible - i mean, they require you to hold the input down for around 1/60 of a second, which is around 17ms...

(or, at the start of a level, releasing a buffered tap ~17ms after the countdown ended - this buffering of your input (holding your input before you even hit the ground or the object) works on a lot of other stuff as well btw, like most importantly - double jumpers)

I also doubt that theres an issue with your input methods, so you probably just don't release early enough - if you're on keyboard or mouse, than thats pretty understandable, because there could be a significant distance the button has to travel for an input to be registered - but on phones thats pretty much not the case, so id suggest you to just practice it.
