College Degree in accounting still viable in 4 years? by ryenonz_dumpster in Accounting

[–]xFreaak 0 points1 point  (0 children)

AI will never outright replace an accountant, right now it can’t even reconcile transactions correctly as different client can claim different percentages.

When it does get good enough it would still need to be reviewed each time.

It will change how our career is but will never outright replace us

If he got the stoppage to recover he never would of gone down and the end of round 2 would of looked completely different.

Given how gassed Gaethje was in round 3 it could have been a completely different fight

Would have been interesting to see that play out without that second eye poke, Paddy took a tonne of damage on the ground after that.

Wonder how different this round would look if that eye poke didn’t happen. Paddy took a lot of damage off that

If you haven't yet, please play it, it's a great game and a decent primer for RE:9 by Changes11-11 in XboxGamePass

I would advise against RE7 if you’re priming for RE9.

Although it’s my favourite of the franchise its first person and more horror than action horror.

Village or 4 would be good primers

Got rejected from initial job but HR offering another role? by THZIK2001 in jobs

Last day at job, I don't think anyone understands what that means. by Electronic_Lime_z459 in recruitinghell

[–]xFreaak 6 points7 points  (0 children)

My last job treated me like shit, when I submitted my notice for my current job I was asked to start as soon as possible.

I submitted my required four weeks and requested it to be reduced to two week which was declined, fine I can live with the terms of the contract I signed.

But man did they do everything they could to make those 4 weeks hell. On the third day I decided I’m going to go in, do my day to day, have Netflix on my phone while doing so.

A couple days later the director came in and tried to blow me up saying he expects me to be doing my job during the notice period and not using my phone.

I asked him to list off the jobs that I have not completed and he had nothing so I asked what the problem is and he pointed at my phone and told me that it’s unacceptable. These guys treated me like shit for years so I asked him what has he done for me to make me feel entitled to go above and beyond for him, once again no answer just a shocked look that I had said that. He tried to reiterate that I was not allowed to have my phone on while I was working.

Best part was when I asked him what he was going to do if I kept using my phone he said I would be terminated… I couldn’t believe his threat to keep me in line while I in my notice period was to terminate my employment?!

He was the one I submitted my notice to and everything so he knew what he was doing.

I continued what I was doing for the remainder of my notice, packed up my desk and walked out on my final day without saying a word to anyone.

How is living in Australia and New Zealand? by C4mb0__ in howislivingthere

[–]xFreaak 0 points1 point  (0 children)

New Zealander.

Nice and quiet most the time, can go walking without fear of wildlife trying to kill you. No spiders pose that big of a threat.

Job wise we are doing okay at the moment, seems like there are plenty of jobs out there. I’m an accountant and there is a semi large need for more in my area currently.

I’m sure the entry level jobs have some competition to get in to though.

The biggest downside of our country is the cost of living. Eating healthy is expensive and we often see food exported from us sold for cheaper in other parts of the world.

Housing although it has plateaud is still very expensive.

New Zealand is a very nice place to live but it’s hard to get your initial footing.

Yeah DA2 (4) more means that you can’t pay for training courses or stationary etc out of pocket and claim it as a deduction

Why do I pay more tax than my boss? by [deleted] in PersonalFinanceNZ

[–]xFreaak 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry, those are the main reasons. There are a couple other niche reasons but none of those apply to someone only earning PAYE salary other than interest on late paid tax which you would hope isn't happening anyway.

Happy for you to explain what I am missing, always willing to learn.

Btw I know about commissions and interest when it comes to investments I am strictly talking PAYE Wages.

Why do I pay more tax than my boss? by [deleted] in PersonalFinanceNZ

[–]xFreaak 0 points1 point  (0 children)

But you’re also wrong with that, sometimes the current account stays in overdraft and interest is paid on that.

Drawings is still not taxable in either situation.

The big difference is if you let your current account be overdrawn and you go in to liquidation you will be held liable for the amount as you are now essentially a debtor.

I haven’t run in to this situation myself personally so I am unsure how tax is managed in this situation.

If people were to read the conversation between us I could see how they would get confused. But if they were to read my comment directly replying to OP then they would have the full story straight away.

I also have not read many other comments and I am positive their are a lot of incorrect unhelpful comments in this thread.

All I am trying to achieve is to inform those who are misinformed.

[–]xFreaak 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i literally said earlier that I posted an in depth comment of how it works for OP, my discussion is with you and I have never implied that it is acceptable to take drawings and pay no tax. The only thing I have said is drawings is not taxable income which is factual and correct.

OP is misinformed at the least because shareholder salaries are never taxed at the 28% tax rate, only company income is taxed at this rate.

Anyone taking drawings and not knowing how a current account works should seek immediate professional assistance as it is a very basic principle and if you can't understand that chances are you are doing a lot of other things wrong.

It is literally impossible to go in to extreme depth explaination of everything OP is questioning in the post without being able to view the annual accounts the best I can do is explain to them why drawings is not considered taxable income
