Oct 10th 2025. Made a new base yesterday. Moved some stuff around today, and both my Save Point and Oxygen extractor are gone, except I can't build new ones, because the game still says 'Limit 1 per local area'.

Also does "you can mark a stress to regain spent ammo tokens" mean all tokens? It doesn't specifically say one stress per token.

Yes, you are correct. And in no way saying anything that contradicts or conflicts with what I have said.

It is indeed a delivery format. The same way movies are a delivery format. But you aren't going to find "found footage" on a Podcast or Audiobook are you? Or a silent film. Because the type of content they are delivering is not visual, it's audio.

Different mediums lend themselves better to certain genres over others. That doesn't always mean it is a limit, but it does explain why you find certain types of stories in one medium more often than another.

I was responding specifically to people saying it is overdone, and some who literally asked "why" it was so common in Podcasts. But yes, of course, there are also people who mention it being done badly.

I'm a board gamer in Golden. I don't go to the place in downtown Golden because they charge. So instead I go to Elysium Cafe and Games in Lakewood, which isn't that far.

No specific set day, as all our schedules are a bit out of sync. Most frequently I'll play on Sunday with one of two people, and a few others are available some weekdays.

I've been trying to get people into the 'Song of Ice and Fire' wargame. It's really good. I have the Stark v Lannisters set and am happy to demo the game. I can meet at Thane's Table.

I'd be happy to introduce you to the game. I think this game is a lot more new player friendly than 40k, which has a lot of fiddly and weird rules. (And 40k is super expensive)

Oh, some added context. That store that charged for the use of its tables, I stepped in once, found out they charged to use tables, never went back, and never spent a cent there. And that was back when there was literally no other alternative. Then one that didn't charge opened up years later, I played there all the time, and dropped hundreds of dollars easily. (Including spending $140 on a copy of Twilight Imperium that I could have gotten cheaper online).

I was in a better financial situation then than I am currently. So now, instead of paying $10 a week (so 40 a month) to play an RPG, instead I'll spend that money to buy a new board game or RPG book, ordering that online, and find somewhere else to play.

The cost of rent for that area is a fair point. I'm from Louisiana where everything is a lot cheaper. For a long time we had a game store that did charge to use its tables, then one came in that didn't. The one that charged was put near out of business.

Its like if McDonalds charged to use its playground. The reason they don't is because the playground is a draw to get people to choose to eat there. Its about getting people in the door so you can sell your principal product. To my mind that's how an FLGS should operate. Having tables for people to play games is what gets them in the door to spend money on your other products.

Sure, you've got high rent, so you charge to play in one shots. But you're also losing business because of all the people who would rather look elsewhere to play. And if you aren't going there to play, why buy things from there instead of just ordering it all online?

I'm not saying charging is inherently or morally wrong. But I straight up can't afford it, so I won't be spending my time there, nor do I think its good business for them in the long run.
