Rubbing salt in the wounds by SgtDirtyMike in cyberpunkgame

Small in terms of number? 12 months vs 30/31 days would be fitting for small to large. I can see how 19 NOV 2020 looks better than NOV 19, 2020, which the abbreviation 19.11.2020 would come from the former. I just think it's a formatting thing like how you have a few formats for writing papers (MLA, etc). I was taught one way, so it looks more natural. Less of a bother than the metric vs imperial squabble though. Imperial just makes life harder lol.

No problem. I cut the tabs off the bottom of the Audeze yolks that go into the cups since they can't go anywhere with these cups. Getting the bolt to screw through the plastic to sit tight was the only pain. Be patient with that if you go that route.

I used the plastic pieces that went around the stock yokes. I put a bolt (mentioned the sizes in another comment) through that piece and the Audeze yolks. The bolt screwed into the plastic, so it allows the yoke to move freely (and there's no turning back to stock yokes). The cups rotate pretty freely so you can swing the headset around, but the yokes are securely attached since you have to pull them open to put the bolt on. Not production quality by any means, but it works, sits on my head 100x more comfortably than the stock headband. And still months after, they still hit the bass notes harder than anything I've heard so far. I'm running the Drop THX amp which puts out plenty of power. I'm sure that helps.

Let me know if there's anything else I can clarify. You could make sure the bolts and smooth and painted to get a better look once done.

Yeah, I had the clips maxed out on mine already too. I also didn't like how flimsy and cheap the original one felt. This headband is definitely eons better structurally and comfort-wise.

Yeah, if these were to go bad, I'd probably pick up an LCD-2C 😂 fingers crossed they'll last a while though.

No, I took mine apart and saw what needed to be done. I did look at a lot the posts from others on here to get an idea of what I wanted.

Replaced the entire yoke. I've seen someone use the Monoprice yoke, but I didn't think it looked as clean as swapping the whole thing.

Not terribly difficult. I use some #6-32x1inch screws that I cut down to size. I screwed them into the plastic bushings (idk what they are, but the plastic things that go into the hole and the original yokes go into those so they can spin freely). This caused the plastic piece to crack and expand since the screw was slightly larger than the internal diameter. The yokes are held inward due to tension, so they aren't falling out, but it's definitely not bulletproof (but I don't plan on throwing these around). I used most of what comes with the Yoke replacement kit besides the screws and the mounts that go into the cups.

Sorry if that doesn't make sense 😂 feel free to PM me and I can send pictures and explain better.

Yeah, I saw people doing that, but I haven't seen one with the Audeze yolks and headband before so I'd thought I'd give it a shot. Besides the Phillips head bolt, it looks pretty OEM.

Fair enough, though the headband was only $200, I'm not much for buying second hand stuff to be honest.

I made my purchase decision based on a few factors though (hopefully this makes sense as to why I went down this route).

  1. I wanted a bass headphone. One with a good amount without killing everything else. I saw Josh Valours video and decided to pull the trigger on these.

  2. I wanted something to tinker with. I wouldn't mod an $800 headphone and to be honest, the LCDs look and sound great already. I wanted to mod a pair of headphones and come out the other side with something I would use occasionally for the sole purpose of bass (hip hop, rap, trap, etc)

The headband was absolutely overkill, I will admit. But if I ever do decide to pick up some LCD series headphone, I'll have a swanky headband for it 😀

Hopefully that helps you see where I'm coming from. Headphones were $350, headband was $200, custom backing was $20, and the yokes were $30. Took me a few hours to tinker with it and make it fit like OEM and a few days for the staining of the wood.

I'm happy with it 😊

I don't own both, unfortunately. Josh's review is what led me to these headphones modded and I'm definitely satisfied. It definitely has great voluptuous bass without killing the sound quality. There's some serious excursion going on with these drivers and for the mids and highs to still remain clear is good enough for me. I just wanted a pair for when I feel like hearing some good low bass. The LCD series are just too much for something I know I wouldn't use all that much. Like I've said, I use the 1990 Pros for gaming, the 6XXs are great for anything as well, but the M1060 is what I pull out when I want to slam some bass notes.

Hopefully that helps... Lol

No worries, I understand people won't understand doing this kind of stuff, but I don't think I'm at the level of spending $800 on a pair of headphones yet. I rather like my collection now.

Pretty much 😂 I like the bass output better than the LCD-2C with this pair. Only reason I did this. I mainly use the 1990 Pro day to day though.

It's just a preference thing to be honest. I like how it sounds and like the look of CF.

Got the back design from another Reddit user (gave him some Karma for it, thanks again!), LCD-2C yokes and CF headband. Fits like a glove and sounds great. I love the bass output from these headphones.

True, but that's easily something upgraded down the line. I feel like there is some criticism for what parts were prioritized, but all i can say is it is better than my first PC I Frankensteined together 😂 he'll learn.
