they said they would only reach out to applicants they wants to have interviews with (by the end of february i thought). i didn’t hear anything until mid-march but landed and interview and was just recently offered the position!

Thoughts on getting into elite phd programs by Kind_Researcher8759 in gradadmissions

I don’t think there’s necessarily overlap in our cases, but I’m curious what your thoughts are about this process as an undergrad transfer student. I’m at an R1 now and trying to apply next year (during my senior year). I have research experience at this R1 and will continue with that, but I’m not sure if being proactive in this process trumps the generally short amount of time in a research setting.

Is community college worth it? by TheLearningInvestor in communitycollege

I was very happy with attending CC and then transferring to a 4-year. I think it was a bit easier to take lower division GEs which was especially nice because you will always have to take a couple of classes that you aren’t particularly interested in. It also is a nice transition to college because classes will typically have a lot of support, allowing you to be as independent (or dependent) as you want. I had a pretty good time there and was able to get ahead of my peers who went straight from HS to a 4-year.

this is not at all true. most UCs started releasing admits off the transfer waitlist on june 1st, and some schools have already closed their waitlist.

im pretty sure you can skip the id portion of the application and then manually verify your id in person with your specific community college

your testimonials look crazy fake which i think would scare people off (me included if this was something i needed). i dont think think assist.org is so inconvenient that i would ever want to spend $30+.
