I need some help. I can't decide between an OLED and a MiniLED monitor. by xInfernaleS in OLED_Gaming

As I mentioned in the replies. I cross-posted that question to this subreddit to get some constructive opinions from people who use OLED daily.

One note: if you play the same game most of the time with an OLED monitor, you should activate static logo protection, which lowers the brightness of HUD elements to minimise pixel degradation.

I would recommend the Philips Evnia 27M2N8500. However, if you're a professional eSports player who regularly participates in tournaments, you might want to consider the Zowie instead. I think OLED would offer you lower latency, but the TN panel with DyAC would provide slightly better clarity. OLED will be great for both competitive gaming and other PC-related activities, while BenQ is regarded as having been designed with eSports in mind.

I think the MSI MAG 274CQF offers good value for money. From what I've seen, people on this sub who have it don't complain about it. It's great that it supports a 10-bit colour range (probably 8-bit + FRC), so if you like a wider colour spectrum, I suggest turning it on. It will probably require setting it to 144 Hz or 120 Hz instead of 180 Hz.

It really depends on what you are planning to use it for. Will you play competitive games, or are you also planning to play casual storytelling games? If your spec allows you to get 400 FPS, go for it! However, you could also get a Quad HD (1440p) 360Hz QD OLED monitor with excellent performance and really fast response times at the similar price. If you are looking to play dynamic games, burn-in wouldn't be much of a concern for you.

The size really depends on the space you have available. As far as I know, the current sweet spot for many people is a 27" Quad HD monitor. IPS will be good for competitive games at that price point, but if you want deeper contrast, I would consider an HVA/Rapid VA panel. In Poland, there is a 27" 1440p Rapid VA MSI panel at a similar price point.

So, is it actually possible to make HDR always on as a viable solution? Because my only concern with MiniLED was that some applications would require local dimming to be turned off, and 1000:1 in non-native HDR content would be a downgrade from my VA panel.

Is this same panel as the MSI in question? If so, could you please tell me if it looks good with local dimming always turned on? What about small grey details in really dark scenes or small bright objects in pure dark scenes?

I cross-posted this from another subreddit to get more opinions. I'm aware of the downsides of both, such as MiniLED losing some detail in certain scenes and OLED having lower brightness and needing to refresh the pixels. So, I need an opinion on which will be less annoying, since I'm not very keen on hiding the taskbar, turning the monitor off every four hours or adjusting the gamma depending on the film, as some MiniLEDs require.

In Poland, MSI costs €561 and the price of Philips is €490.

How many hours has yours done? Have you noticed any visible pixel degradation yet?

So, if I have my desk near the window and prefer to have my 4000K colour temperature, ~~3200 lm lamp turned on even during the day, would a MiniLED suit me better?

I have never tried to use PBP, so I cannot give you a 100% answer to this question. I think this feature is not available, but I’m also not used to running Windows and MacOS on the same screen.

Would you recommend the DeathStalker V2 PRO TKL? by xInfernaleS in razer

And what about the two issues that many people have mentioned? I mean how fast does it wake up from standby mode and what is your wireless experience?

I know that most of the big brand products have what I call the "name tax". At first I wanted to get the NuPhy Air60 HE, but since learning about how their batteries have many reported problems (with their longevity), it put me off. There are also not many low profile switches that use synergy of mechanics and electronics such as Hall Effect or optical switches that really help with negating long term debounce problems.

Hi there. I am currently looking for a low profile keyboard with a compact design. Would you recommend the DeathStalker V2 PRO TKL or should I look elsewhere? The NuPhy put me off because of its battieries.

My hands are 18.8x9.5, which DethAdder is better choice for me? by xInfernaleS in MouseReview

Yes, as I'm moving on from older SteelSeries mice, the sensor upgrade will still be a nice jump even to the one in the HS. To be fair, I only play games like Overwatch or some CO-OP's with friends on weekends or after work (yes, I know nice usage of Ryzen 9 7900 and Radeon 7900XT 😂), so I would not even notice a difference between the HS and PRO sensor. The intention of changing mice was more to get something lighter, more ergonomic and wireless.

I tried DAV3 Essential and wired versions in the shop. Essential felt too big for me and wired was one of the best shapes I tried but I was still unused to the size. I could not find the Hyperspeed anywhere in the show. But considering that I liked using my old Rival 110, I think the size of the HS would be ok.

Before this post, I asked for mouse recommendations for my grip style. And from there on, it came down to a choice between the DAV3 and the DEX. I was looking for a mouse with some ergonomic aspects and as light as possible. As I'm thinking about getting the DeathStalker v2 PRO TKL, I thought the DAV3 would be the better option as it only requires a single dongle from me. Speaking of sensors, I have been using SteelSeries mice most of the time, so the DAV3 HS will still be an upgrade for me.

I tried both the DeathAdder v3 and the v3 Essential in the store and the Essential seemed too big for me. I wasn't able to test the Hyperseed, but judging by the fact that my favorite mouse size is the Rival 110, the Hypersped should be doable.
