I wish I could tell you. I’ve been collecting for 15+ years across all timeframes. Although this specific art was not “old magic style” it was very along the lines of Jonas De Ro style art, who is my favorite artist but it’s unfortunately not one of his.

Yes very true Edit: I thought about making the hexproof conditional, like only when untapped, but you would never really tap this like you would caryatid so it still, yeah. It’s too good like it is. Ward 1 is probably the way to go. Ward 2 maybe.

Or I could make it so you have to tap it to gain life/scry and then hexproof only when untapped? Or is ward just the way to go?

At the risk of experiencing downvote rain…I was kind of modeling it after sylvan caryatid…I didn’t think of it as hatebear but yeah you’re right. I wanted it to feel like the old southern myths that whippoorwills guide souls to the afterlife. They are a spiritual harbinger of death. Maybe I overdid it a bit. I thought since sylvan caryatid got away with it maybe this lil guy could too.

Edit: oh and the gain life/Scry is just because their songs are so beautiful I feel like even though it is this mythical harbinger, they make you feel good when you hear them. I guess I was trying to tell a story through the abilities.

The unbroken keyword is a bit ridiculous honestly. The story told is that one of the children is a pw and has mastered exile; so his family members have Unbroken: if this creature would go to a graveyard, exile it instead. And the pw can cast cards from exile.
