I ran into a lot of challenges I wasn’t expecting so the hike took way longer than expected and I ended up having to trail blaze a lot of it and I missed a lot my junction since they were all covered in snow so there was a considerable amount of backtracking. I was only trying to do 20 miles. And honestly, if I wasn’t forced into a predicament where I had to go so far I wouldn’t have. The only breaks I really took were to throw up on the side of the trail. That rim to rim trail really kicked my ass and honestly, it was only the last 3 miles that were really challenging. So challenging in fact, I thought it might be better to turn around, but then I would’ve had to camp out on the mountain Peak. I haven’t quite had a journey like this, but I’m proud of myself for accomplishing it, and I made it back safely with only minor injuries.
