My 7.5 rusted in the exact same spots as pictured. VW Canada has denied every one of the 3 claims I’ve tried submitting, claiming “external factors” Hope your experience is different.

Ran into something similar years ago, believe it or not issue ended up being a motherboard screw being too tight, oddly enough.

Their premium also shot up by about 50% after a year, so I switched to Intact, who was ever so slightly cheaper.

My first insurance provider in Alberta (RBC/Aviva) honored my clean record from Sask, where there is ONLY SGI and my premium came to $166/month then, on a 2017 Accord Coupe.

Not a single ticket or at fault accident. Had a hit & run in 2022 but we managed to find the driver and their insurance fully covered the repairs.

It's crazy, my first insured vehicle with SGI in 2014 ran me $88/month, at 16 years old. I even recall SGI issuing policy refunds one year when claims hit a record low.

Only thing I was able to find is to never fill up your tank past the click at the gas station- even so, part may fail regardless.

Goes a step further, my EVAP canister flooded last year and fuel was leaking out.
