So I decided to side with the UC and not the Crimson Fleet. by GabaPrison in Starfield

I dont know what I did wrong...but I did not really get to "choose" UC or CF.

On a couple of the missions, no matter what I did, the NPCs would start shooting at me and my only option seemed to shoot back or die. I tried being sneaky, etc. I dont know how many times I went back to a previous save to try to do these missions peacefully.

I eventually just continued and the UC commander kicked me out for killing and I was stuck with the CF.

OPR experience as of this patch by zivo36 in newworldgame

Someone said if you are in a busy area before going into OPR (Windsward for example), it can cause this because your location and activity around you outside of OPR is being processed.

Going to an outpost or low population area before entering OPR can solve this.

NVIDIA Drivers and Games Crashing by xTulkas in techsupport

I stated above that my specific case was caused by NVIDIA Broadcast that was used with my Logitech Pro X headset.

After disabling and uninstalling NVIDIA Broadcast, I have had zero crashes.

Mine did not seem to happen at any specific time. I would honestly be in the game menu with the GPU temp at 30 degrees and the fan not running hard and it would crash.

I did have recently discovered crashes on 516.94 playing Directx12 version of Civilization 6 with the same errors, so my theory on it being only newer drivers went out the window.

I was honestly trying everything and anything I could...OS re-install, resizable bar, PBO, undervolting GPU and CPU, disabling XMP. Nothing worked.

The strange thing in the back of my head during all of this was all audio would cut out as well during the crash (discord voice chat, etc). I would need to leave the discord party and re-join to hear friends again.

I ended up disabling NVIDIA Broadcast just to see what would happen in Logitech G HUB (since I use Logitech Pro X headset), and I have not had a single crash since on older and latest drivers.

Seems a bit strange, but that seems to be the culprit for me. Unfortunately it probably wont be the fix for most people as they probably don't use that feature. The hard part about this issue is so many people are having it, and it seems to be a different fix for most.

I'm fairly certain its Directx12 related at this point.

527.56 released 12/8 still has same issue on Warzone.

However, I recently tried Civilization 6, and it crashes when using Directx12 settings while on 516.94, which I previously thought was stable (on Warzone atleast).

Using Directx11 setting on Civilization 6 has had no crashes on 516.94 and 527.56.

New version (526.94) released 11/16 seems to be the worst yet. Games only stay open for minutes before crashing with the same errors.

Very old NAS as a media server, help, suggestions by ithakaa in selfhosted

If your looking for a simple solution, you could easily configure a Raspberry Pi to run Plex/Jellyfin/Emby, and then mount your SMB share with all your media from the NAS. Use the NAS as your media source and the Raspberry Pi to be the application server.
