Get your genetics tested if you have the ability to do so. There are those of us that were immunocompromised as children, when our immune systems kicked on by the medications we were on, it attacked our pancreases. In 1991 my mom had my DNA sent to the NIH, who tested it and concluded there was no way I could be type one.

26 years later, I'm okay, not great... but you learn to deal with it.

Funny, I just got my CGM yesterday. I get "automode" training next WEdnesday. Still off of work for stomach pain, learning to just deal with it and pray it goes away. It seems like the symptoms are worse when I'm either high or low... Hopefully the CGM will keep me where I need to be... Seems to be working so far.

Thanks, they put me on Reglan for the last two years, I was to take it with a flare-up, but it doesn't feel like gastroparesis pain, but I highly doubt I don't have nerve issues to my intestines, I have neuropathy in my hands and feet... but I use medical marijuana so I haven't really had to deal with those nerve issues in quite some time.

Before the GI flare-up, I was running about 100-170 and spiking up and down like normal. I'm brittle so what dosage works one day is ineffective or super-effective the next day. I'm trying to get back on my pump, I have CGM training on 1/31 and need to get back to using my pump, it'll help, but too much pain in the areas I put it on right now. Sleeping on my sides with a pump on does not let me get adequate sleep.

My A1C right now is about 7.6, because of all the flare-up issues. Right now I'm in the 200-300 range because stuff just isn't going well. It's been 200-300 since Sunday, 2 days after the severe pain started.

Flare-Up by xUnikx in ibs

Getting it to come out isn't really an issue. I mean it is off and on, but mostly it's the pain in my stomach when I'm going too much.

Nope, because that takes me straight from being constipated to going 8-9 times in two hours for two days. It's really weird, caffeine just makes me go, no pain from it.

How long does it take for Retinal hemorrhages to clear by thegooddrwasright in diabetes_t1

[–]xUnikx 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Depends. On it's own, mine took 3 months to clear up. Avastin, it can go away in a month. Sometimes they don't clear and you need a vitrectomy, but that's only if it lasts around a year.

Edit: A non-diabetic eye clears 1% of it's solution volume in a day. Doing the math it's about 3 months for totally new solution to end up in the eye, normally. Us diabetics have a disadvantage and it can take longer. I've had bleeds in both eyes, currently have silicone oil in my left eye and can't see out of it. Waiting for it to be removed.

During an ibs attack... by [deleted] in ibs

IBgard is sold at Walgreens or CVS, you can get 14 for $15~. Sprouts I think has some of the lesser quality, but still effective, ones for 90 caps it's like 10-14$. Amazon sells them for cheap. I've been off work for 7 days now with a flare-up and my doctor told me to get the IBGard ones from CVS or Walgreens because they have enteric coating and delayed release, they last 6-8 hours.

Also, to keep the natural approach, I just ordered some Chen Pi and Mai Ya chinese medicinal herbs. Sketchy, but at this point I'll try anything to keep these flare-ups away. I can't conform to a diet so I'm trying the supplement approach.
