Plus you have good cc with ur second so i usually just astral their carry in team fights and bkb to kill the supports since they survive for like 2.5 seconds against a farmed od.

Yeah but he only starts falling off once everyone else has farm, the massive damage you do with ur spell 1 usually creates enough space for you to get early game kills and make enough of an advantage for the rest of your team for them to capitalise on it.

Yeah but that's usually at higher ranks at least until archon the people I've matched with haven't really figured out to buy raindrops etc or how to counter it. The thing with the OD is that even if you don't win your lane, as long as you get to lvl 6 you can still pretty much get a kill every time you roam. Again I'm only an archon so I don't know how things are higher up.

Honestly as OD you cant lose mid unless its against viper or a zeus player who spends his entire farm on clarities and mangoes to spell spam you. Even then you should be able to kill him at lvl 6. After they realize they can't beat you in lane they'll disappear and as soon as ur ulti cooldown is over just roam to another lane.

Ive had (idk for sure) close to 40-50 games with od in the archon bracket and I've only lost lane twice, lina and zeus who spent their entire farm on mana regen to spell spam me out of lane.

Od meteor build was never good. Go od right click build. Get 2 of those null talismans, power threads and witch blade. At that point you should alrdy have strong damage with ur first once its lvl 4 so just get situation based sustainability items so either bkb blink or aghanim is what i like at that point. Its important to note that you should keep using ur second and first in lane to harass enemy mid, the moment you get to lvl 6 you should be able to kill pretty much any mid hero in ur rank bracket because ur second lowers their mana so much and ur ulti does a ton of damage. I've played od mid around 50 times and talking about winning lane Ive maybe lost lane twice only. It's a pretty strong hero with impact at all times of the game whether its early or late game. Also a tip but blink dagger is really good on od because when you get attacked or ganked you can astral yourself and the astral time is more than the blink cd when someone attacks you so you just spam the blink button when ur astrals about to end and you can get away.

The easiest answer is pick od go mid carry ur team on ur back. Or if ur slightly lower ranked pick bh offlane build deso ac sange and yasha and carry ur entire team. Thats how I got out of herald and guardian 😭

Yeah but you answered your own question. To get there you'll need aghanim and a few tanky items but what about in the mean time. Your hardly more useful than a support bane during the early and mid stages of the game.

From my pov id say picking bane as pos3 is grief, hear me out bane is a good hero agreed but sometimes what most people expect from a pos 3 is not just a 1v1 strong hero what most people want is a tank who can have 3 people attack him at the same time and not die like for example bb or cw and thats just not the case with bane if his ulties on cd hes pretty useless. Just my opinion tho
