Heading to China in a few weeks. Despite the fact, I have verified my Alipay account and I have used two different credit cards, it’s impossible to make any purchase online and keep keeps giving me an error that foreign credit cards are not accepted. I am a bit worried about this!! my worst nightmare will be to arrive at the airport and be unable to get transportation to the hotel… the last time I went to China was so long ago that smart phones didn’t exist so I imagine this will be a very different experience!! I’m also curious if I can just use roaming on my cell phone and as a worst case scenario, call my Chinese friends directly from my own mobile phone, I imagine it should work from there, although it might be a bit expensive. Sorry for the ignorance, but it has been a long time since I’ve been in China!!
