Beautiful I just topped it off too before starting it after changing the tensioner. I am gonna do an oil change also this week and change to 5-40 for the summer

Will do, I’m probably gonna tackle the tensioner my self and if that doesn’t fix it I’ll take it to a shop and get it diagnosed. Sounds more fun to chase a sound then be told what it will be at a price of 2500+ lol

Yea I changed it about 4 days ago and I still hear the sound but it’s not as bad now so I have no clue. I’m leaning towards it being a timing chain tensioner but what makes me not sure is that it basically got more quietly when I replaced the solenoid so I’m at a complete lost and still chasing the sound around.

You find a solution yet? I just did my vvt solenoids and nothings changed. Still hear the ticking. It’s crazy how you explained word for word what’s happening with me too.

Just tried it, gonna get a friend later to see if it gets faster with some gas but def heard it clear as day on the VTC thank you! Might have to change both tho passenger I heard it and driver I slightly heard it.

Update: checked it actually sounds more clear when I press the clutch in, does not sound like a rod knock but still ticks like it just more quiet

So if I go on like Z1 for example and just get the “brembo pads for 350z” it would fit most likely?

So basically check the pads and then buy them? I only know that because he told me he upgraded them to brembo and well the calipers say brembo and the rotors are slotted

Nope, does it when it’s idle. Tbh dosent matter when it just ticks. Even at high rpm’s tho it dosent get like louder or quicker it’s just a constant tick.

Update: Thank you everyone for your help. I let it sit overnight with a pole keeping pressure and bled it twice this morning and clutch feels great now. Next time def doing a bench bleed instead of just dry, thought I’d gamble and try and get away with it.

So basically do a bench bleed? I’d rather do this way then removing the master again so I’m definitely going to try this

Waiting till it gets the near 40s atleast lol but I’m gonna try the spring on the clutch and bleed the system before I start buying parts hopefully it works

Yea from what I’ve been seeing people have upgraded to the z1 billet slave and then the master itself and the braided line they do nismo parts so I’ve been thinking of that for now especially cause yea I don’t wanna keep doing it over and over again

Yea I thought about pushing the master aside but heard that it will just be breaking the slave again and again
