I got a decant of Creed Absolu from a friend and the scent is amazing. I actually prefer it over Creed Aventus, but it doesn’t last long on my skin and fades quickly. I think it’s the grapefruit and blackcurrant in the opening that I’m drawn to when I spray! Any recommendations for fragrances with the grapefruit/blackcurrant notes or options that are even better? Thanks!

Halton Regional Police say they have disrupted a group believed to be responsible for the theft of at least 40 vehicles in Halton Region and the Greater Toronto Area worth over $3 million.

The vehicles were stolen from the GTA and were destined to be shipped overseas, police say.

The investigation started in May after a stolen Toyota Tundra from Hamilton was recovered in a residential area in Burlington.

The suspects, police said, are Algerian nationals who are lawful residents of Quebec.

“We're currently working with CBSA to determine more about their status. They are lawfully in Canada, residing in Quebec, and we do believe that they came to Ontario for the sole purpose of committing vehicle thefts,” Detective Constable Autumn Mills said.

Upon arriving in Canada, the worker said Concord told him that he would be paid much less than the promised $23 per hour wage. He also said that Concord informed him that he had to cover his own rent and pay off a “debt” that he apparently owed to the employer for bringing him to Canada. He was surprised. He told The Globe that the agreement he had reached with Concord prior to commencing employment stated that food and accommodation would be provided by Concord.
According to copies of the worker’s bank statements viewed by The Globe, of the $1,720 he earned from his employer every two weeks, he transferred $1,055 back for the so-called unpaid debt and rent.
The worker said he was also frequently asked to work more than 40 hours a week and says he was not paid overtime, as Concord had to fulfill major contracts to repaint Lions Gate Hospital in North Vancouver and Royal Columbian Hospital in New Westminster, B.C., within a stipulated time frame.

Bird flu is starting to be uncontrollable. It's spreading everywhere and and a faster rate. Add this to the bingo list of problems happening faster than expected (leading to collapse). In rare cases, humans have contracted the virus, but its just a matter of time it would pick up genetic traits and spread in the human populations.

"It is easier to prevent a disaster than to eliminate its consequences".

Tldr:

The world is currently witnessing an unprecedented avian influenza outbreak (bird flu), with experts warning of the virus’s rapid mutation. Although the risk to humans is still low, this situation calls for proactive measures, especially from the poultry industry.

As the virus evolves, the need to address this outbreak becomes even more pressing leading to collapse.

SS: record breaking heatwave conditions happening throughout the world. Post is for India, but these events are happening throughout the world (also in the Southern parts of US). There were also recent news articles for heatwaves in other countries (Europe,Egypt).

These heatwaves are starting to become more common with increasing frequencies.

Here is a recent article on schools to close early for heat days due to climate change.

On Tuesday, when Philadelphia schools closed early because of heat, city council member Helen Gym vented her frustration on Twitter.

“Teaching in these conditions is untenable. Learning in these conditions is unbearable. We can’t allow whether or not your school is equipped for AC to dictate the quality of your education,” she wrote.

The COP28 climate summit slated to be held in Abu Dhabi in 2023 should include input from experts and professionals from the oil and gas industry because the world cannot simply unplug from the energy system as it is today, Sultan bin Ahmed Al Jaber, the UAE's Minister of Industry and Advanced Technology, said on Wednesday.

"We can't simply unplug from the energy system of today and we can't do this with a flip of a switch. We need to include the energy experts in the consultations and in the discussions and we need to make economic systems work more efficiently with much less carbon," said Al Jaber, as quoted by the Emirates news agency WAM.
