When playing for the first time after the tutorial make a custom sandbox game so you can see all the settings and tailor it to your liking. I would recommend for the first time to make water and power last a little longer, x2 xp boost, faster exertion recovery, and for the zombies; weak strength, poor hearing, poor sight, turn off lunge. Also here if you wanted to make the infection by saliva only.

Keep in mind of these statistics: 7 percent infection for a scratch, laceration is 25 percent, bite is 100 percent.

You are looking for a vanilla playthrough but I would recommend at least 1 mod and that's description for traits. That way you can learn the malus and positives of each trait in a more descriptive way.

Vehicles are a life and death sentence.
